Kraft was smart to avoid that crap by keeping the Pats in Foxborough and building the new NFL stadium with his own money. I’m sure he’d like to do the same with a new soccer stadium, but all the politicos want it near Boston. I think that’s why Kraft broke ground on the new training facility in Foxborough. He probably figures they’ll back off if he starts to put the pieces in place in Foxborough.
what owner wouldn't want public money to build a facility? This isn't football which generates far greater profits. If Kraft cares more about control then a facility will never be built. Kraft won't see the payout in it without some public $. He's simply holding onto the franchise to sell at a profit at a later date.

The Revs become less and less relevant to Kraft and sports fans every time the other franchises in town win a championship. They are an embarrassment.

If you really have a son who is a 2002, then you should know there are many juniors born late in the fall or winter 2001....they are the kids playing with mostly seniors because of the birth year change

Legit you're an idiot. With a Sept 1 school cutoff date approximately 1/3rd of 2000s will be seniors this year; the other 2/3s graduated last June. That also means most but not all 2001s will be seniors this year

And the Revs don't necessarily load their teams with younger players.

They rarely play up also. The Revs don't have one 2002 on the U19 roster. NYCFC has three, even the Bolts have one listed.

Seriously, holding on for 22+ years? I think Kraft has shown he’s willing to take the long-view and put his money where his mouth is. They are spending $35m on the new training facility and the comments in the article below sound like they are planning for expansion and hoping to get a 30-50 year return on their investment. Doesn’t sound like someone ready to flip the team.

But we want him to flip the team.

If he wants, Kraft can make this team the next Atlanta United.

But he will need to clean house and hire real top notch professionals.

Just won’t happen. The costs don’t justify it for him.

                        Too bad he won’t sell.

Granted that they need to invest in staff and coaching, but you’re kidding yourself that there would be a better owner in this area than Kraft. He’s been patient and pumped $100’s of millions into the club over the last couple decades. Not many potential owners would have stepped up to do that.

While it’s no Atlanta United, the Revs are still drawing high attendance relative to other MLS clubs. We could go around all day about the reasons for Atlanta’s unicorn attendance numbers (best staff/players/results; area demographics; not a lot of other championship sports to compete with, etc.), but in the end I don’t think the Revs are a terrible operation.

Hundreds of millions? If that were the case they'd have a stadium and a winning MLS team. Kraft doesn't spend unless he sees a profit potential. He's putting in the minimal effort until he either sells or finally decides to up the ante.

                              1) the facility won't cost nearly that
                              2) if he were taking the long view he would have invested years ago to get the ball rolling

Went back and read the press release on the new training grounds. $35 mil on land he already owns, no indoor facilities which is crazy for a team in this part of the country with the weather we have (sharing it with the pats and the paying customers and RDS shows just how low a priority the academy is), the new grass fields are for first team only. Old grass field is for academy. One new turf (OUTDOOR) field will be shared. Guessing the bucolic walking trails will be open to all. . .
