A kid is a kid is a kid. Some excel at soccer, others won’t. If only the rich kids can afford early training, then how do the poor Brazilians do it?

Really that's true at most MLS clubs. They don't want to be in the business of training players for college. They want to develop pro players. It's why so many want out of DA and to do their own league. However, most other MLS clubs have taken their responsibilities more seriously than the Revs, putting in the resources and effort.

I will be happy with anything. If you have a halfway decent paying job you will not be getting financial aid so anything is a plus. Let’s face it very few will be making a living at soccer. Based on the number of homegrown signings only 5% of the kids that make it all the way through will get signed to a professional contract. Only a couple of those will actually have a career.
If I can get good exposure at the various events for my son playing for an MLS club to enable him to get into a good school that he probably would not have been able to attend and possibly get some sort of scholarship, how is that a bad thing?
I think the parents need to start thinking of it in this manner and stop complaining. Think of it that you are using the Revs. They are not using you.

How so? I’m not expecting anything and have prepared appropriately and early enough that if we get nothing we are fine. I am using the Revs to get exposure for my son. He is one of the top players on his team and at the age that college recruiting is happening right now. I am quite confident we have played the game to our advantage based on the responses we have been getting from very good schools.
