They are only interested in players who bring their own energy and motivation. If you don’t then you are cut. It makes a lot of sense when you realize the players are not customers, they are apprentices, a v Ryan different relationship. If you don’t get it and are outside the club that’s fine. If you don’t get it and are in the club then start making other plans for next year.
So how's that working out for you?

Let me spell it out for you dummies. A USSDA waiver is allowing players to play for their high school seasons in the Fall and then rejoining their academy team in the Spring for the second half. Has absolutely nothing to do with the USSDA open period from October through November in rostering new additions. The Revs have taken the stance of not giving them out any longer as of last year. Everybody clear on this? Holy Christ!

For me? I watch a game about once a month, quite enjoyable.

It's called a roster addition in the open USSDA period. They have joined the Revs and will not be allowed to play High School soccer any longer. Revs no longer give out HS waivers. Why is this so hard to grasp?

They can do the same thing next year - no official waiver, but like someone said a wink and a nod that they will be allowed back next fall after HS ends. Any club can do this by simply not having a player on the initial roster then adding them during the add on period. The caveat is the player has to prove himself worthy. Non starters and bench riders will not be included.

Does not/will not happen but Go ahead and try! Let us know how it goes.

It's not. They simply won't roster these new players in July/August of next year. These players will then go back to high school and play. Come November they will miraculously be "discovered" by the Revs yet again and "added" to the team. Seems pretty straight forward really.

The Revs are supposed to have a U12 team as well. See how that works?

As poster said no club will do it for just anyone. Whether or not the Revs do it next year remains to be seen. There were anti-waiver before but even they must see they may have to give some on that. Ct board said Beachside brought in a bunch of high school players. It's a desperation move for the most part as they were really struggling in the fall. The odds of a top player being missed in small states like CT or MA is low. If your club is strong you should have a sufficient number of public school players willing to give up HS ball, even more so at a free to play MLS club.

Why would a kid from a town like Needham give up high school soccer to play for the Revs?

They stand to lose several impact U15 players to high school soccer next year as kids transition to privates. It will happen again.

In theory, because it's a path to college soccer, especially if you want top D1 and have the skills for it. It's very tough to get to a top program without DA. But if you want lower D1 or D3 you don't have to have DA just high quality premier (see the commitment page).

Also, not all HS is even decent soccer let alone good soccer. Tough to walk away from a successful HS program but not so hard if your program stinks or your coach is a dik, or both.

No one is shedding a tear for the Revs. They made their bed and have to lie in it now.

Will not happen. They made that very, very, clear last year. The mid season new additions (which btw, has never happened in recent memory with the Revs academy), are full time DA players until they are cut or choose to go elsewhere (including HS if they so choose). Revs will not give waivers out unless there are "extreme socio-economic" circumstances.

I agree it won't happen, but to the Revs detriment.
