The new time commitment would all but preclude participation by serious students. I guess that would make US Soccer happier in the long run anyway.
Train or Bus it to D.C. Hell we do that commute for Boys ECNL

Flights to DC are cheap(especially late flights out on a Sunday). I just checked JetBlue. In early April you can leave at noon on Saturday and return at 9:00 Sunday night for $226 round trip. The money they save staying in a hotel only one night makes it the way to go.

This seems to be a foolish decision on USSF's part. I can understand the concept of relegation, but having three tiers is likely to backfire because kids aren't going to want to give up so much to be in the bottom tier. Plus people like Bob Kraft are smart enough to resist pouring more money into the Academy. Glad that two have made it through, but I it will be disruptive for my third.

I doubt there will be relegation. One flight for the elite another for the almost elite clubs. Last one will be a high school league.

The high school league will get absorbed into one of the other leagues. There is no chance three will survive. I agree with the other poster. This could be a losing $ proposition for MLS. NWSL is barely holding on in some parts. I would hate to see the same thing happen to MLS.

There’s a larger point. MLS teams will now control 90% of all the domestic talent. More favorable homegrown talent for the MLS teams because They control 90% of the talent. Watch in the future MLS clubs will get a percentage of foreign contracts for their academy products

Now if my kid doesn’t want to sign professionally with a MLS club I can go to a non MLS club. See Haji Wright and NY Cosmos. LA Galaxy and MLS lost out the economics. In the future that’s much harder to do.

                NYCFC

                NYRB

                Phildelphia Union

                Montreal Impact

After those you're basically earning frequent flyer miles.

Those 4 would account for 8 of 26 games if they keep the number of competitions per season the same.

Those other 9 away games would be a major pain.
You folks aren’t that bright. That is the easy part if they can coordinate with the first team schedule. Charter flight for both 1st team and DA teams. Solve that problem. In fact some nice parents can hitch a ride if they behave.

DAP is also adding u16 next year. Sure, Kraft will love this idea of flying a bunch boys teams around the country on charter flights.

Are you really THAT f'ing stupid?

Epic stupidity. Revs fly coach on American Airlines.

January MNT camp in FLA, Bolts have as many players called in as Revs. US Soccer is beginning to figure things out. Trouble in Foxboro.

He doesn't even want to pay for the teams they have now, flying as cheaply as possible on coach. Even if U12 and U13 never traveled we're talking about travel costs for 100 players plus coaches (say 105 in total). If they could get a $300 airfare PP = $35,000 - $40,000 PER TRIP plus hotel and food. Forget the Revs - every club will balk at it. NE/Atlantic Coast would be in better shape because of density, but Chicago, T. Way too much travel.

What if they did this only for the two oldest age groups? Leave all the other teams as is then do MLS only for the older players? Just tossing ideas out there that might make more sense

                                Foxboro doesn't care. Clearly.
