Isn't NU in Maple Green? You've played 2 punching bags. When you lose to Galway in week 4 we'll talk again. That's going to hurt.

League play does suck. Can't be helped. Yes we do hope they bring challenge.

I have heard there are some really bad teams in this age group. It changes year to year. Nothing to really talk about as the previous poster mentioned. By the time they have reached U13 the shrimps will be dropped and the Big Boys will rule the roost.

Strikers played the worst two U11 teams thus far & they will drop to the middle of the table by Columbus Day.

I trust you but other posters might question wether a dad would have the time or inclination to go onto this thread and construct and post a top 10 list of u11 teams when your son's team is not on the list. Not to mention I have spent a lot of time on fields watching u11's and I have not seen every team play. Has your son's team lost to every one of these teams and you are ranking them based on the severity of the loss.

Newsflash for all of you U11 soccer parents: All of your small, fast and skilled kids will be getting dropped by the time they hit U13. Enjoy your glory days! I have seen it with my own son. My husband and I are average height, we have seen it with other kids and thought our kid was next Messi too! The BIG boys take over at U13 and if they have your genes and don't grow they will be eatin up and spit out. American style of soccer is all about size/speed with minor skill required. Prepare yourself for the "B" team..............

Newsflash for you: My son's a U13 now, but he was a small, fast and skilled kid as a U11. He's still small, but he's not being dropped. In fact, he's one of the top players on his team, which is one of the top teams in the state. American soccer is more than you think it is.

I am glad he is doing well but you have to admit that size matters. In almost all sports, bigger, faster, stronger matters. There are always athletes that can overcome their physical short-comings by having superior skills, grittiness or game IQ but at the end of the day, size has the statistical advantage.

Unless of course you're a marathoner and then size has a disadvantage. :)
