More blowouts this week. Sounds like a long season for some teams. Which games should be competative this week?

Isn't MAPLE supposed to be a 9 game season in the Fall? With a Bye during the season we get shorted a game. Do teams get reimbursed for getting screwed?

It seems that the only game played in NEP was the Scorpions and they lost. Everyone else must have had a bye.

Yes the level of play has been disappointing. My kid played up in U11 last year and the competition seemed much stronger in MAPLE than this year.

The seacoast v Nefc was a nice game to watch at times. Good possession soccer by both teams but lack of finishing resulted in a 0-0 first half. The final result did not tell the story. Very physical but fair play by both teams. Good parents from both teams (they were quiet)

In the current U12s (last year's U11s), the MAPLE teams are generally stronger than the teams in NEP. That is not the case with the year below, where NEP appears to have some more good teams than it does at the U12 level. So its no surprise that MAPLE U11 was very competitive last year and isn't so great this year--there's just not enough talent to fill up the top divisions in both leagues, let alone two supposedly "top" divisions in MAPLE.

Not sure this is true. NU and Valeo went 4-1 in Stars, both Striker teams, Liverpool, Coastal, Explosion, Hammer and Spartans are very competitive. In addition to the second Striker team, several other very good teams not in Blue or Green. Don't confuse Maple staff laziness with team skill. Top 10 teams, 6 or 7 are in Maple. U11 is NEFC and the rest, u12 is Valeo and the rest. Not much difference.

And you can tell all this by GD and results of a preseason tournament? Both sides are just silly! Get off your Valeo and NU bandwagon for a second and realize both leagues need to make a lot of changes for the spring. I am glad you are all blowing teams out but what good is it doing you? This should not be a Maple vs NEP thing. It should be about trying to get both leagues to put more thought into placing teams competitively. Having had experiences in both leagues I do find NEP to be more responsible when dealing with these issues and not having it based on results but more about speed of play and trying to put the teams that are trying to develope over winning together. In this fall season it seems both leagues have fallen short so far but the season is still very young.

This is great idea. Top 4 NEP, top 4 Maple at the end of the season.

Because of Maple incompetence, big team bullying to get very weak winless teams into bogus "Premiership" there will be a lot of blowouts during the season.

All these teams should just enter the MPS Thanksgiving tournament. I hate giving that operation money as much as everyone else, but that's probably the best end of fall season tourney.

I know and their tournaments are really expensive. I don't think we can get a decent roster together with many traveling to visit family. Maybe...
