US Soccer will dictate where they all go. Don’t think there will be a choice.
****If ECNL goes and GA/DPL don’t, thats a problem.
what will a club like Charlotte Soccer Academy do if they have Girls ECNL/ECRL/DPL
or clubs like
FC Delco with MLS Next and girls ECNL
or Clubs like HTX with girls GA and Boys ECNL.
These big clubs have dedicated staff that can handle this. They already have various "player pathways" on their sites for prospective athletes at different levels. It's not a huge burden.

US Soccer has been signaling that it won't be a mandate but league discretion. Silence speaks volumes, MLS Next, GA and NAL have all been quiet, doesn't take a genius to figure out where they stand.
If all leagues don't move to SY what a headache that will be even if they have staff that can handle this. If you have ECNL SY, ECNL-RL SY, ECRL2 - SY and then NESCL staying BY I can see how things could get muddy. What if some NESCL players guest play they would have to be the same SY and not BY.
Isn’t NAL US Club just like ECNL? And you have clubs like Rush that have only NAL, ECRL and EDP which i believe is USYS. Sounds overly complicated to stay BY for the few kids who might play MLS. I don’t know anything about GA but if college recruiters have a choice between a showcase where all of the teams are grade year (ECNL / RL) or the teams are a mix of eligible players and players they’re not allowed to talk to seems like an easy choice. If college coaches are on board with the change you would think any National League would want to be too. And I don’t think every league needs to make a statement now that US Soccer has.

NAL is USYS, which is part of the communication with US Club and AYSO
Between all the official announcements and ECNL podcast talk it makes it seem like they will push the decisions to the governing bodies and we will have various leagues making separate decisions.
8/1 US Club, USYS, AYSO
1/1 MLSN
GY ECNL this is just a guess but I would be surprised if ECNL high school ages and showcases were not grad year.
??? Ga, DPL

People are claiming this will be a headache, but after many years of saying we want to combat RAE, this could result in the first real change that could mitigate it. Smaller age ranges and rotating cutoffs are often proposed as ways to combat RAE, but nothing like those has actually been tried until (maybe) now. It's worth considering that there are enough benefits from having both cutoffs in the landscape to warrant the headaches of handling cross-league play in tournaments.
GA will pickup att the Jan birthday ECNL outcasts that were replaced by GA and ECNL trapped players.
I think that’s more likely to happen. Will they lose some Aug to Dec kids maybe? But they will definitely add more players from ECNL once the rosters get changed. GA is still a great league ECNL obviously is just better.

So GA gets the bottom of the roster in ECNL that gets pushed down due to age? And you want to tell me GA is even a competitor with ECNL? Ha ECRL would surpass GA

You seem to have missed the part where I said ECNL players would be displaced by GA and ECNL trapped players
