CA clubs have tryouts twice in the same year?

Jun-Aug simply goes up/down with their graduating class. Everyone else is fixed in their age group.

How is it fair that new England ECNL clubs can't make roster changes mid year but California clubs can?

Did they tell them 8/1 cutoff or 9/1?

CA doesn’t. But they have tryouts for 25-26 in Dec of 24. Don’t know why, just the way it is.

All I heard was moving to school year. Didn’t get the exact date. Also was told the change will take effect for 26-27

Isn't CA ECNL forced to tryout later by the league? Does that mean kids have to turn down non-ECNL teams in the months prior, hope to make an ECNL team, and then go back to lower tier teams begging for a spot if they don't make it?

Is it just high school age or 2013, 2012 and 2011s as well?

I just took a look at Surf's website to see when tryouts are happening in CA. Don't eat too much turkey, little kids.

For U13, regular league tryouts were in January a few years back. If you made the ECNL team, then at U14, ECNL tryouts were in May but local league was still in January/February.

We have heard the same. The prevailing wisdom seems to be that it will be painful, but there's no need to extend the uncertainty over 18 months. Rip the band-aid off and get it done.
