it doesn’t. It only states that you can not contact another ECNL
clubs players before a certain date, typically May 1. Offers can be made to current club players or non-ECNL players from other clubs.

That’s what I thought. Not sure why someone said ECNL offers can’t be made until season ends. I don’t think that is correct information.

Been doing this long enough. In terms of ECNL offers, it can be cut throat since ECNL is an environment focused solely on wins not development of players… ECNL season for league games ends mid May. Last year verbal offers went out on May 1, but no contracts until after May 9. The returning players will get contracts for next year between May 9-13. Coaches who are cutting or moving a couple players will notify players usually week of May 20-24, before Memorial Day and before post season playoffs. Some families don’t want to attend playoffs of player is cut it’s too expensive so they are let off the hook. Others want to stay and finish up the year and say good bye. Tryouts begin first week of June but that’s usually just an ID clinic formality as each roster may have 1 opening at the most by then. Usually cut players attend those clinics hoping to land on a team at the last minute if they didn’t have a back up plan. Hoping for the best for the ECNL players. It’s not easy. Especially those on Blue. That’s usually the best of the best and it’s a gut punch to leave that team. Can’t say much on ECRL but it’s a similar timeline with usually less cuts as they are a development/feeder program that is committed to developing players not just winning. Those coaches only make cuts when their players don’t make effort in games or don’t show up to practices. ECRL is actually a better environment for players to develop (specifically speaking about Stars) than ECNL. The players get a better balance of playing time in games and coaches seem dedicated to players reaching full potential. Again less cut throat. ECNL is focused on getting players to playoffs, wins, scouting, college scholarships etc.

Select is definitely not bound by ECNL rules until the Fall.
If Stars ECNL players have been showing up to Select practices, that's interesting.

More likely outside players who would also have looked to attend Stars practices.

Outside players that would be looking at Stars and Select. Could have been some Stars players looking to play closer to home also.

Has anyone seen first hand Select, NEFC, Scorpion ID Clinics? Any new faces? What about Stars have they had one?

You do if you are taking your girl to multiple clubs trying to find the right fit.

Agree with the above poster - any parent/player on a top team looking to move would have made the rounds this past month and would have a good idea of what is going on in each of the top clubs. Anyone looking to move but waiting until May is taking a big risk.

Also, plenty of parents at different clubs know each other and talk. Coaches always underestimate that.

Any day you can schedule a practice with the coach. You can’t miss the kids trying out practice.

Parent does not need to take a step back just because they feel the stress for their player. Anyone not nervous doesn’t care. Most parents care. We care if our team will stay in tact or if there is a mass exodus. We care who the coach will be. And we certainly care if our kid is getting moved, cut, not pulled up, whatever. It is a tough time of year. If we all had a May 1 or May 10 whatever agreed offer date for the returning players it would take away the stress of wondering who is getting offers and who is still waiting.
