What are the "rules" that you're talking about?
And attending training sessions makes one what "type of person" that everyone needs to "stay as far away as possible"? And who is everyone "else" that feels the "same way"?
You are making no sense as all.

Players attend open training sessions / tryouts for a variety of reasons and not necessarily the most obvious one. And let's not forget, this is all parent-driven. So if you want to shoot someone, shoot the parent not the child.

Now they know to only offer 12 current players. If that had offered current players first, they wouldn’t know where to cut off the offers. They would have then offered maybe 10 current players, knowing there were maybe 4 definite cuts and 4 bubble players. All 18 sets of parents would have talked and chaos and insecurity would have reigned. This way, all 18 decisions are levied all at once.
This is the sensible way to do it for a team with a single ECNL slot.

Now take Stars. Their focus is generally on Blue vs White. Priorities: 1) They need top players on Blue so they can compete nationally. 2) They need the cut Blue players to accept their White offer, so that their 2nd team isn't completely helpless. 3) They need to fill gaps on both rosters, which is where external players fit in.

In the past, Stars had the luxury in knowing that top players didn't want to play for Scorpions or GA teams. So external top players slipped through the cracks into May and generally accepted their Stars offers when they trickled in. This may not happen this year given Select's ECNL status and aggressive offseason. So I'm guessing Stars will be out of luck in May and the predictions around them calling up ECRL players might actually happen.

        Here's a piece of advice.

Don't bother going to a team's practice if that coach isn't coaching the team the following year. If he is coaching the team next year, he will want the best players for his own success. If he isn't coaching the team next year, he has no incentive to push an external top player onto the future team. He is incentivized to push his current favorite/political/money players.

For Stars, even if he is coaching the team next year it may not matter if his name isn't GB or JD who generally make those decisions. Target your practice tryout appropriately...

This doesn't make sense. What is the coaches motivation to promote his 'favorite'? He won't be coaching her any more, and can't hide her faults. If she is not good enough, the coach will look bad for recommending her. All this would do is undermine his credibility. The coach still has the incentive to recommend whoever are the top talents. You are right that whoever has the team next year likely has final say though. But the coaches all talk and share notes. Non-issue being brought up by a competing club or disgruntled parent.

Are there separate tryouts for Blue v White?

Agree. Unless this person has actually experienced this, it seems like he/she is just trying to discourage players from trying out. Why would a coach simply not want the best players possible to join their club, even if it’s not their team?

Coaching assignments aren't released until before tryouts. By then it's too late.

Girls have been cycling through blue and white all winter and spring. Offers have been made to a few of those players.

                          not true
Ecnl offers can't be made for next season until current ends

Probably verbal offers. Second week of May is when coaches can give out the offers to the girls they are keeping for the next year in ECNL. Girls they are unsure of may be waiting a week longer. If your player is on a top team like ECNL Blue or Select GA it there is more movement in younger years and it’s expected as consolidation is inevitable. If you are on a regional ecnl team you may have less “cuts” on your team as National players not looking to land there. The best thing to do is focus on your current team and playing hard. You have zero control. Sometimes coaches get it right and sometimes players are overlooked. If you don’t get an offer by Mid May on current team talk t coach and see what their thoughts are. If you are unhappy go visit other practices. The grass isn’t always greener at another club so be patient and remember end of the day it’s your money. Nobody forcing you to do anything.

Where in the ECNL competition rules document does it say anything about offers not being made until season ends?
