It is a result of having quality kids on both Blue and White and neither having a well rounded full team. Also a result of not fully trusting the reviews of either current coach.

There will be significant movement between white and blue national, mostly already decided. Final count depends on how the out of club kids look, some are from out of region and are unknown quantities, and which ones head to blue or white. Then it further depends on who leaves the club, or decides to go back to their old club, if they are not given offers that they want. More departures mean more White National spots for the current Regional girls. This is why offers will come out in waves.

Kids were initially told nothing until at least tomorrow but a 3rd combined session was added for sometime early next week, so that may have changed.

Still discussing 2010s. My feeling is that adding a third tryout is not a good idea. Coaches think it gives them more time to invite interested players and evaluate the ones they are considering, but it’s also creating a lot of stress, sideline chatter and players are starting to look at other clubs or Select is promising. Scorpions with the old coach also a solid backup plan…. I would not wait if I was Stars, nervous parents and restless players start looking elsewhere. Finish up tomorrow. Send out the offers this weekend. Same goes for regional players they too have more options. They can move to a GA team they are better than many GA players. Holding off too long will cost the club players.

All of those options will still be available to you on Tuesday. The deadlines you fear are all manufactured and arbitrary since all of the clubs hold on to open spots for this exact reason and are also willing to over-roster. These players may be getting moved to White national. Instead of being Stars second team they can go to Select or Scorpions and be on their first team. As for regional players trying out… yes they are good players, but only two have the footskills and speed to move to White national.

How did last night go for Stars National tryouts? New faces? Not sure why the 2010s need 3 nights of tryouts when all the coaches know who the top players are. It’s end of season they all know. Is it just to pull in more out of club players?

Tuesday and Friday had been set before they acknowledged that several out of club players would be at ECNL South Carolina on Friday so they added another date next week.

I would think that the timeline for top players for blue would be that they were already verbally notified by now, the starting 11. Spots 12-20 will be sorted Tuesday. Then White will get the second team. Players that do not make the cut will head to regional blue and white or go tryout for Scorpions, Select or NEFC GA. Some will leave the club before playing on the regional teams.

My guess is that blue players who are on the bubble are already reaching out to their old coach now the Scorpions coach KM, maybe even attending a practice. These players may be getting moved to White national. Instead of being Stars second team they can go to Select or Scorpions and be on their first team. Make the switch to Blue no matter what birth year! They are the best. But there’s not enough spots on one team for all of the good players. You could take the top 2 players off the top 10 ranked MA teams and make a team just as good as Blue,, but they won’t have the coaching, competition and discipline required at the Blue level. Blue and White National don’t even want multi sport athletes.

accommodate two out of club CFC players? Are there now more than two that are interested? If they are in SC just watch the games online through the ECNL link. You can evaluate them under pressure. No need to add a tryout date.
