When the Stars teams merge, and two kids had the same number, how do they determine who gets to keep the number? If it’s truly a new team, there shouldn’t be an incumbent so how does that work?

This is my favorite part of teams merging. Clubs tell both parents number 7 costs $500. If both parents are willing to pay $500 it becomes $1000.

Usually one parent will back out when both parents realize one could pay the other $500 and the other players becomes $17.

This birth year has had to deal with more coaches getting fired, taking teams or club hopping than any other. Very talented birth year but because of the coaches egos and club hopping the talent is getting spread out. We should have much more consolidation of talent right now. This group is likely another year from all the top talent landing on Stars Blue, Stars White and now Select. This is a fault of coaches encouraging players to follow or stick with coaches over joining the top players at the top team/league. Eventually the parents figure it out but it could be a year or so.

This birth year is not that talented. Top two ranked teams in the state just got bumped from playoffs by mediocre teams. Stop making excuses for them. They are just not that special in any way.

I agree, I think this birth year is one of the weaker ones. There are no good 2010 teams from this area that could compete nationally. As much as Stars parents like to think so once the teams are consolidated. At every club there are 2011s playing up to help and 2010s playing 09s for a while because the 10s weren’t good enough. Not a strong birth year. The baby boom happened in 2009 after the 2008 market crash.
