Bandits Cup results not posted yet. From what I saw, Liverpool Red, Abbey Villa and James Bede were the best of the teams there.

Why did Jame Bede not advance to the semifinals? They won their bracket.

I am surprised that the stars 1st team could not beat the Oakwood second team to advance to the fnals. The MPS team should have beating Oakwood first team, a close game, 2 to 3.
3 take downs of MPS players in the box, one should have resulted in a penalty direct kick, Oakwood got lucky with the ref the whole game.

Come on....oh wait penalty direct kick.....it would be a PK.........I seriously give up.

At least Scorps Premier scored 2 goals against the Crusaders in their loss. Maybe they should exchange the forwards between those two teams.

MPS Crusaders actually played Scorpions Soccer Club teams in 4 our of their 5 games this weekend at Bandits Cup

vs U11-B team, won 3-1
vs U12-B team, won 6-2
vs U11-B team in Sem-Final, won 4-2
vs U12-A team in Final, won 4-1

Love comments like this. When did this happen - years ago? Were they playing 11 v 11? Oh wait, Bolts are a giant club and Bede is small so they must be second tier. How else do you justify the giant fees?

I am not affiliated with Bede. I saw the team play. They are fine. Decent athletes with relatively good skills. Play decent soccer. On par with most of the average "elite" teams out there, including teams from big clubs. Let's face it, the only team far above the others at U12 is the Blazers. And no I am also not affialted with the Blazers.

MPS Crusaders actually played Scorpions Soccer Club teams in 4 our of their 5 games this weekend at Bandits Cup

vs U11-B team, won 3-1
vs U12-B team, won 6-2
vs U11-B team in Sem-Final, won 4-2
vs U12-A team in Final, won 4-1

That's a long way to go for two south shore teams to play each other all weekend. They could have done that in Braintree.

Bolts A (Teal) are on a similar level as the Blazers. The last game was played at the VW tournament (11v11) where Bolts lost 2-0 in a tight game.

Blazers played up at last year's Needham Tourney and won. At that same tourney Bolts tied Easton United, and they were playing in their age group. I'd venture to guess Bolts are closer to Easton than Blazers. Bolts beat Vikings 3-1 at that tourney. Blazers just beat the Vikings 11-0. Bolts just lost 7-3 to Oakwood. Using your logic, someone from Oakwood would be justified calling the Bolts a 2nd tier team.

Different poster here. Have either of you seen these teams play? I have seen Bede team play. They have good athletic skills but soccer skills are not anywhere near the top level that I have seen in MA. The top U12 boys teams I have seen play from MA are Blazers, Bolts, MPS Predator and Western United. It's not just about the final score but how the team plays and the individual skill levels of the players. And I don't think Blazers are at a higher level than any of these other top teams. You can't go by scores alone.

A team of top Blazers players lost to a team of mostly MPS Predator players 5-3 in the MLS Futbolito tournament this summer. The MPS team went on to win the trophy.

The Blazers are a very fine team, and I think it is difficult to argue they were not the best team in the state based on last year's results, but one of the previous posters got a little carried away.

Yes, they won at the 8v8 level. However, most of the better U12 teams last year were playing 11v11 in MAPLE last year (although that is changing this year with the shift of many teams to NEP), so saying that the Blazers played up and won is technically true, but a little misleading.

What a ridiculous conclusion. An electrical storm delayed the start of that Bolts-Easton game. As a result, it was called at halftime so the following games could stay on schedule. Yes, it was a tie, but in a half-game, not a full game. Bolts won the rest of the games in the tournament relatively easily, while Easton finished last in the Bolts group. If you want to disregard the rest of the evidence regarding the difference between two teams to focus on one half-game of soccer, you are simply looking for evidence to fit your preconceived notions.
