    Nice...

National Rifle Association members will no longer get discounted Delta flights to the NRA’s annual convention, and Georgia Republicans are Not. Having. It. If you were wondering whether these politicians are more loyal to the gun lobby or the largest private employer in their state, consider the question answered:

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle (R), who leads the Georgia State Senate, demanded on Monday that Atlanta-based Delta, one of the state’s largest employers, make a choice: Stop punishing the NRA, or watch Republican lawmakers strike down a $50 million sales tax exemption on jet fuel, of which Delta would be the primary beneficiary.

“I will kill any tax legislation that benefits @Delta unless the company changes its position and fully reinstates its relationship with @NRA,” Cagle tweeted. “Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back.”

According to Cagle, if Delta doesn’t give NRA members a special discount, it means the airline is “discriminating against law-abiding gun owners.” The tax break is now in serious danger of failing in the state Senate after having passed the state House.

Republicans usually love these corporate tax breaks to benefit specific major companies in their states, but not, apparently, if said company has recently taken a tepid step against treating the NRA as almighty. Call it guns vs. corporations, call it guns vs. jobs—either way, the answer is clear, and the answer is guns.

He seems to have forgotten that getting a discount is a privilege, not a right. Delta is not discriminating against gun owners but simply ending a relationship with an organization that currently is toxic. He is trying to blackmail a corporation, one of the biggest employers in the state. Prime example of choosing party over what is best for the electorate.

Corporations seem to forget that tax breaks are a privilege not a right. Works both ways. Actions have consequences on both sides.

LOL. So a discount for a few GA members who can still get the service out weighs tax breaks for a GA based company that employees thousands of Georgians.

          Craziness

It's like a crazy game. They just keep pushing the envelope, defending the indefensible.

Let's see how far the repubs are willing to go....

              Lol.

Haha, nice comeback. I'm sure the Clintons are behind this somehow. Too funny.

The Lt Governor is a Dikki , I just heard him speak on TV , he claims “ He’s” tired of “His” Conservative values being trampled on.
Again Republicans taking Party over decency, safety and the well being of Americans now it’s Georgians at Delta that face unemployment of “His” Conservative values.

Republican would sell their Mothers for a penny those lowlife Scumbags.

Delta stand to lose a lot more business if they continue the relationship then if they end it. Fedex is taking asocial media beating for keeping it up. There are many airlines to fly and delivery services to use.

Any other state besides silly Georgia and maybe Idaho would be happy to welcome Delta with generous tax breaks (and without the NRA baggage).

Delta is making a business decision. They will support the policy that makes them more money whatever it is.

It's extortion. The break was already approved and Delta's decision to end a voluntary arrangement that no longer is in the best interests of the company should have no bearing on government decision makers. Most importantly Delta is not discriminating. To say they are is madness. The guy is nuts. No one is taking his guns away. He'll just have to pay full fare like everyone else does.

Sorry NRA guy. The tide is turning against you. Boycott Delta if you want. More people support their move than are crying against it.

Georgia is already on thin ice because of numerous other stupid decisions (like not allowing gays to adopt). Companies have a multitude of options where to do business and has you said many states would welcome them with open arms. If GA wants to be seen as a corporate friendly place to do business, this yahoo better retract his statement or step down.

Easy question to answer. Will it increase their profits to do so?
