Originally posted by Unregistered View PostIs it true that the President stopped off on his way to Mir-A-Lago to make this visit?
Is it true that he spent about 30 minutes in the hospital, focusing mostly on the wonderful first responders and spending virtually no time with the families and victims?
Is it true that he then went to the Police Station and stayed a longer time there, thanking the great first responders but not talking to any of the families?
Is it true that he then got back in his limo and went on to Mir-A-Lago?
How is it possible he could be down there and not focus the bulk of his time with the families themselves? Was it more important to recognize where his empathy should be visible as opposed to thanking the many people who came to help? Could there have been a better decision made as to how he should spend his time? Do you think he has people advising him that even understand this?
And if you asked the first responders what they think his priorities should have been when he came down there, do you think they would have advised him to spend time with the families instead of having all his visible focus on the first responders?
Do you think his people understand what it truly means to be Presidential?

The State department funded them for a better Israel/Palestinian relation, i don’t see a problem with that..if and when they deverted it , then what can the Department do aside from cancel more funding requests.
Again comparing this with Russian meddling is not a discussion, Russian meddling is a HUGE denial from Trump and it was done to disrupt our Democracy. I see a problem with that, good for you if you believe they are the same.

Obama has since described 12/14 as the worst day of his presidency. He spoke to the White House Press Corp right after the tragedy became news. You can see his emotions. Remember when presidents had press conferences.
Obama didn't have to come to Newtown and he didn't have to spend one on one time with families. He spent a lot of time before his speech with the families. There have been some pols who wouldn't spend any time or were not empathetic at all
Donald Trump tweeted after Obamas Newtown speech, "President Obama spoke for me and every American in his remarks in #Newtown Connecticut."
Again this has nothing to do with political affiliation but what's in their heart. As mentioned earlier President Bush or Reagan would have most likely done a similar job. Contrast that with what Trump did in Parkland. It's night and day.
Has obama been back to check in on the community? He has had plenty of time. I mean if he really cared right.
You probably didn’t have a child die, so for you, I guess the president is a big deal. I would be more interested in hearing what an affected parent would say rather than you.

2) He's always done what he wants. Some admire that, but at times of national tragedy you need to act like the President of ALL Americans. The ONLY reason he did anything was he was already going to be in FL. He was pissed during the shut down that his staff forced him to cancel another trip to FL.
3) Related to #2 - his staff has ZERO control over him. Every once in awhile they can hog tie him to read a speech from teleprompter (monotone and emotionless).
4) I also think he avoided the families because they might have ripped him a new one. Their anger is raw and the fact that he rescinded laws to prevent mentally ill people from getting guns won't set well with them, even if they had voted for him last year
5) First responders are easy for him to talk about - bravery. He loves that, probably because he lacks that himself. Those first responders will never be the same; those kids who saw classmates die will never be the same. If Trump and Ryan have their way with the budget they won't have access to the professional help they will desperately need

If you want to get the perspective of some the angels parents feel free to reach out. Some of them have been to the White Housep post 12/14. Reach out to the former First Selectman for her perspective.
Remember that after Sandy Hook, non president Trump tweeted, "President Obama spoke for me and every American in his remarks in #Newtown Connecticut."
On the fifth anniversary of Sandy Hook in 2017, now President Trump hosted Wayne LaPierre, head of the NRA at the White House Christmas party.

Shooter was trained by NRA
the 19-year-old who charged with murdering 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, honed his marksmanship skills in a school program supported by the NRA. The shooter was, according to the Associated Press, a member of the school’s four-person varsity marksmanship team, which received a $10,000 grant from the NRA in 2016.
The marksmanship team was part of the schools’ JROTC program. On the team, the shooter trained with “air rifles special-made for target shooting, typically on indoor ranges at targets the size of a coin.”
The shooter discussed his AR-15 with other team members and was given the nickname “Wolf.” Another member of the team described him as “a very good shot.”
