I’m fine with universal. I have a ct legal hand gun. Went through all the background checks, never convicted of a crime, never had a domestic violence charge, never determined to be mentally unstable. Was fingerprinted and interviewed by the police and passed background check. I regularly go to the range to practice and my gun and ammo are properly stored and can not be accessed by anyone else in my home. If I want to go to the range with my brother or friends in New York, I can not bring my gun over the border. Most ironic thing about that is that my family and friends did not need to take a gun safety course to get their gun permit. They also have larger capacity magazines then I am allowed to own or use for the same gun. Yet it is I who can not have a gun in New York. New York doesn’t even have a statewide law. Varies by county.

Makes no sense. Also why it's so easy to get guns to begin with. can't get it in one sates? Drive across the border to a state with lax laws and transport it, even if it's illegal to do so.

Dems see the tide is shifting but are keeping it on the down low, letting some GOP reps take the blowback for speaking up. They learned a lot after Sandy Hook, Orlando, Vegas. Change will come, it just won't happen over night. Nor will one bill fix it all. It's will be a multipronged effort

Trump administration was already pushing for cross-border carry laws; in other words if you could carry in your state you can carry in others. No. It doesn't work that way, nor should it. If a state doesn't want people packing that applies to residents and visitors. Another reason why universal laws are needed.

Why is A.G. Jeff Sessions asking the Inspector General to investigate potentially massive FISA abuse. Will take forever, has no prosecutorial power and already late with reports on Comey etc. Isn’t the I.G. an Obama guy? Why not use Justice Department lawyers? DISGRACEFUL!
