These programs are sanctioned by different governing bodies:

ECNL (CSP)/National and Id2 are US Club Soccer
NTC is US Soccer

NTC is the most prestigious of youth accolades and the most rigorous process

ECNL CSP and National Camps are the second tier with a weekend of evaluations at each ECNL region (basically top two players from each club at each high school age group over a weekend) are evaluated and then a few are sent to a national camp

Id2 seems to be the most political with club directors choosing a few

Thank you for the response. My D is 2007 and coach told us she was nominated for ecnl national camp. He gave literally zero other information. I guess they aren't doing it this year due to corona, which is a bit of a bummer for her but not the end of the world. I wasn't sure if that was the same as the NTCs but thank you for explaining the differences. The US Soccer NTC must be extremely selective.

Sounds like a CFC 06 mom or dad that wants to get their kids name on the radar (buyer beware), if an 06 started at 12-13 attending the quarterly regional NT training sessions, they could have gotten to 10 sessions. But use good judgment mom or dad, let the upcoming season play out and see where it ends. Touting your kid on this site just puts a target on her back. Guess what, just make sure college coaches are the ones you target not the TS or they will rip you and her apart. 15-17 are the years you learn who can separate from CT masses. LK and Oakwood girl are only ones currently attending the actual camps or virtual camps.

Not really. There were no quarterly NTCs, they were twice a year once GDA got their hands into it. That started fall of 2018, so one NTC fall 2018, one NTC spring 2019, one NTC fall 2019 and the spring 2020 NTC was cancelled.

The spring of 2018 NTCs were fallowing the old process with new GDA staff. There were two NTCs spring of 2018 both in NY before they moved CT clubs to the MA market.

A 2006 (which there weren't many) from CT could have only attended 3 NTCs with the new regime and maybe 1 or 2 with the old regime so max would have been around 5.

There will reportedly be a presidential feel to the new investment group for the Washington Spirit.

According to Steven Goff of the Washington Post, Chelsea Clinton and Jenna Bush Hager are part of a group investing in the NWSL team.

Ha ha ha.....Chelsea Clinton.......women’s soccer has now officially jumped the shark.

Once the GA took over the centers, ECNL players magically stopped being invited and coaches from ECNL teams were magically no longer involved. Prior to this, a player could have easily gone to more than 10 Natn'l Training Centers if they were invited from a young enough age and continued to be invited. CFC had a few in addition to the two who were called up to National Camps.

The last national camp was in 2019 in Portland. Two CFC players were invited.

Is your 07 D at FSA or CFC? Wasn’t sure where this was communicated?
