Make a national team camp, roster, id2 selection, ECNL national camp, national training center....those that achieve something of merit or significance. Jesus we live in an age where everyone gets a trophy and everyone thinks their kid is the next Michael Jordan.

A few kids from CT have met that criteria but still you guys come here and bash these kids.

nobody is immune from lack of talent here in CT. I have 3 girls, 1 in college, 1 in HS and 1 in 8th grade. All 3 sport athletes, I’ve been around a long time and like I said no talent in CT to compete with the big clubs.

My kids never did all the extra privates for thousands of bucks, we never obsess like all the other parents do and my kids have started every game every year with soccer.

The crazy thing is how parents obsess. It’s creepy and borderline mental illness.

all of those things you mention are in the realm of true insiders- ie. CFC or someone with pull at the national level
they get the invites and no one else- yet there have been only 3 who have really stuck
JB -CFC ( CFC Pull and she was there for a bunch of cycles)
EJ- OW ( her dad had pull but she was deserving)
PM- i think she actually plays for her country of origin (Jamaica?)

for the rest it is simply a short visit- all have been good players but not all of the good players coming out of this state- the system needs to change and their recruiting needs to widen to grab kids not at connected clubs

Lol my kid played pda top team and the vast majority of the 07s looked like they were 19 years old. They’re good but it’s clear they just take as many fully mature kids as possible. Good skill, nothing really amazing but all big and fast and physical.
