In the real world a degree from Rutgers, Iona, UConn, Fairfield, Marist, Fordham etc are all the same. It’s splitting hairs. If you think otherwise you are out of touch with reality. All good schools with solid students that are highly employable.

Georgetown, BC, Colgate are the next level up. Rutgers is not in that discussion and if you got there as an out of state kid without significant money, you aren’t making good decisions.

No such thing as “real world” on talking soccer. Fairytale forum for people that have a lot of bad things going on in their lives.

It’s all about who you know. Don’t fool yourself. Hopefully your parents have good connections in the “real world”

Not always. If one of those schools has a strong program in your area if interest and you thrive there, it can open many doors. If you're an undecided major or something like undergrad business? Yes pretty similar. If you think grad school is in your future? Get top grades at any if them and get that undergrad degree with as little debt as possible

Good school if you want to pay a lot for a degree that is blah

My kids never did all the extra privates for thousands of bucks, we never obsess like all the other parents do and my kids have started every game every year with soccer.

The crazy thing is how parents obsess. It’s creepy and borderline mental illness.
Parents obsess because the "ol' grizzled veterans" never tell the newbie parents how the system actually works. Funny how the non-obsessive families always seem to be at the right place at the right time.

The non obsessed aren't on TS as much 😊

Someone once said if parents knew the real deal in 8th grade many would put their kids in local, low cost clubs and just play for fun + high school.

This is where it has to become child driven. A parent pushing a 13 year old at something they dont want amd that isn’t realistically possible is sad. Reality is that everything should be somehwat more local until 14, post puberty, and then filter into the best of the best instead of separating at 10 and then aggregating at 15.

What could Oakwood possibly be selling regarding the GA? Top clubs in GA are all leaving as soon as they get the call from the ECNL. You get to travel to showcases and play clubs than are NPL level

Connected to what? They've little to show for their "connections"

They have the best Rolodex in the business. All low end D1 schools listed A-Z and all the daddy coaches listed Z-A.
