Having been through this a while, I’d say there is a lot more than just soccer ability that goes into these selections. Tons of politics at many levels goes into this stuff and honestly, it isn’t always the best kids going. My kid was not the victim as she is really good but I never thought of her as NT. I have seen some really good kids get totally screwed over though. I wouldn’t say it’s an indictment of CT players as much as that CT doesn’t have powerful clubs.
