This seems like a ill-informed idea that will come back to bite clubs in the ass. The whole genius of ECNL was that it is structured as much for the parents as it is for the kids. Once you made the team (and didn’t get pregnant or didn’t become a methhead), chances are you would get an offer from a mid-level DI program. Parents like that. But now, if the clubs are going to break-off a “special group” that gets extra looks from coaches, there are going to be kids looking to move clubs to get onto those teams. I’m thinking CFC’s 6-10 players are going to start looking at FSA now that there’s more incentive beyond extra Saturday practices.

OW's product is average now. They used to be good because they were the only show in town. They're coaching is getting exposed.

Never bothered me and didn’t impact recruiting for the rest of the team. Look at last years group from CFC. 18 D1 players maybe 6 did the academy

Oakwood has a great record in the winter when they beat each other over and over again and the coaches sit on the boards and could give two ****s

Better players always are treated differently at any club and team. By HS most know where they fit in the pecking order. If you (parents and players) can't check your ego and feelings you shouldn't be trying to play in college

Another disappointed family that went to a open United tryout to find out little Suzy doesnt have a chance to crack a lineup. The chances of making a United team after U13 or 14 is near zero.

Oakwood, CFC and FSA have made it very clear that they have little interest in scheduling any friendlies with each other. Its strictly a business decision. Not the best one but one that any sane person could understand. Example: If FSA plays Oakwood and beats them every time----Oakwood will lose players/$. FSA Girls > Oakwood Girls. FSA Boys = Oakwood boys. CFC Girls better than both. CFC boys worse than both.
