Another disappointed family that went to a open United tryout to find out little Suzydoesnt have a chance to crack a lineup. The chances of making a United team after U13 or 14 is near zero.
That’s entirely untrue. My kids united team kept adding each year. And players added were worse with crappy parent attitudes. Money grab at CFC. They will
Take 25 to meet ends meet.

What a concept a business needs to make money so maybe we can take a few kids that may have potential on a second or third team.....complete moron if don't know all clubs need to make money
Forget showcase Oakwood would not put us in any tournament's I am sure to save money and also to not let the parents see how good some ECNL teams are compared to Oakwood. We had two in our backyard but no lets go play sporting or CT rush or vail and kill them makes sense.
Oakwood, CFC and FSA have made it very clear that they have little interest in scheduling any friendlies with each other. Its strictly a business decision. Not the best one but one that any sane person could understand. Example: If FSA plays Oakwood and beats them every time----Oakwood will lose players/$. FSA Girls > Oakwood Girls. FSA Boys = Oakwood boys. CFC Girls better than both. CFC boys worse than both.
Why would Oakwood lose players? If FSA beats Oakwood, why would the FSA team take Oakwood players they defeated? Are you making the subjective opinion that there are Oakwood players strong enough to replace players on the FSA roster? Aren't you admitting then, that FSA doesn't have the corner on all the truly elite players?
You can equally make the same conjecture between FSA and CFC and between CFC and Oakwood.

Not the poster but OW probably has a few players FSA would take. Just because a team loses or is bad doesn't mean everyone on the team is bad. Plus. FSA could use any help it can get.

Open try-out???? why would you expect to crack a roster at an open try-out when there are kids there who were invited?
if the coaches dont know who you are ,you are just a check to be cashed
No way. Sounds like a u-little pool over there that generally has two games per weekend. CFCU regularly has 24+ on their rosters.
and can only roster 18 for a showcase. wait until they bait you in, you spend thousands on travel and get to play in one showcase game or better yet they tell you you can not go at all.

A wise coach told me long ago that there were no such things as Elite B or C teams.
There is only the A team and the teams that fund the club.
I never saw why I would want my kids to play on a club's B team, particularly the clubs like CFC, FSA or Oakwood. There's not much likelihood that the time and coaching investment into individuals at the B or C level match that made for those on the A squads.
It would take a significant belief in the coach's willingness and ability to help my kid develop her game to take a B or C slot.
Think about it. The top kid on the B team is not regarded as good as the last player on the A squad. Even if promotion were an option, how deep up the roster would that be?

a few? last time they played, OW killed them across the board. cmon, it's fsa!

seriously, you need to get real. CFC is only slightly ahead of piss-poor fsa. The 2001 and 2002 teams were anomalies at CFC and the future does not look bright. Wake up!

Nope, you can take 24 to showcases .... you can only roster 18 per game. Big difference. Play 3 games, each kid gets two, checks are cashed, fools are all content. Go to the league games against decent teams .... the bottom 10 never see the field, even for the 4 that do dress.
The daddy coaching at OW is most excellent. Daddy's kid gets to skip practice but play all game even though there are 11 better players on the squad. Nice. Doesn't matter though, because OW is really about D3 or desperate, low-tier D1. Everybody loses.

CFC 2003 (and FSA) classes are weak but 22s are already off to a great start. OW placement? pffft. No better than FSA but at least at FSA you can play HS.
