If you're interchangeable with most of the roster then no playing up

    2) The club thinks it won't cause a flood of other requests and hurt feelings. This almost never happens.

    3) They don't have enough players to fill rosters
4.) The parents complain a lot and the club needs players

I will take maximizing individual player development.

                Players maximize their own development.

Because you’re selfish and don’t understand the game. It is possible to improve both. It isn’t tennis. A good individual player that can’t play in a team concept always washes out in the end.

Both the last ^ two posts are important. Players can and should maximize much of their specific skill development on their own. Putting in the effort off the practice field differentiates the real players vs those who just show up a few times a week. But playing on a team is another vital piece of of the total equation. You need both to develop into a total player.

Youth clubs develop players, not teams.

College coaches recruit individual players, not teams.

No, they actually don’t. They recruit players that fit into a team concept. If your kid can’t, it doesn’t matter how many times she can juggle or catch a ball on her neck.

College coaches recruit players, as they only have a limited number of spots. To suggest that they would recruit an entire team is absurd. Try again.

Don’t think that was the suggestion. A little reading comprehension might help here
