No tryouts are necessary. Everyone knows who the studs are. If they want to move, they’ll get on to another team with just a phone call

High School

The anti high school people are the worst. If your kid is on a national team or pro track then yes you shouldn't play high school. Otherwise the high school environment will likely create most of their soccer memories. My daughter is on an above average team HS team (not a powerhouse) and they don't have any starters that don't also play club and they have multiple cfcu players. The whole kickball thing is stupid. It is the same kids as all the club games.

Once you get to college and realize about 30 people show up at even low d1 games and no one cares about those games you will realize what you missed out on. The whole experience is about the player having fun not the parents.

So what is OW promising their girls now? No more dreams of the YNT and turn your nose up at fun things like high school soccer. What exactly is your end game? CJSA still have a league available for them to play in? Maybe CCSL?

Most likely they go back to NPL. The BDA non MLS teams are cobbling something together but I don't think the GDA teams can pull that off - not enough teams or momentum. Face it, that's where most NE GDA teams belong. At least they can play HS if they want now. GHS back on top? 😄

Because it isn't just about the soccer. It's about being a starter, sometimes star, on your team, playing with lifelong friends, friends come watch games (how many friends go to your club games? lol), school spirit, captancies, accolades, news coverage, playoff excitement. Crap on that all you want, but if it wasn't happening there never would have been all this angst over giving it up.

If you don't want to play HS you don't have to. No one is being forced to play.

Let’s see if those suckers at OW have to change up their farcical presentation about OW being top tier in CT.
