And, boards indoors makes sense, speeds things up, changes the game enough to make it challenging.

Our job as coaches should be to let a player solve the on field problems however they can. Their own ability to problem solve ultimately leads to success.
Play indoors without the boards; or just use the facilities for drills. Playing games is the worst. Let it go, grandpa. Boards are so last millennium.
