not OP but hate this post all you want but its true. Nobody will change what they want to do with their kid because someone said something on TS. I don’t think the specifics of the league matter as much as some people think they do... good players that work hard will get noticed and have opportunities regardless of whether they’re in GAL, ECNL, NPL, EDP, or ***. It’s the parents of the so-so and average kids that obsess over this because they need to min-max and do any and everything to give their kids a shot.

Additionally, the acronym of your team’s league doesn’t actually have a correlation of the talent or skill level of the team. CFC is a good example of this... not trying to stir up crap, but objectively speaking there are plenty of teams in EDP, GAL, or NPL in the Tri-state area that would demolish them.

Agree, mostly. In that, it matters, but to your point, the league isn't the be-all/end-all. Sure, certain leagues make it easier and it should be a factor. Not the only factor, but worthy of consideration. After you look at your club experiences, coach experiences, team, costs, location, etc.
