Play indoors without the boards; or just use the facilities for drills. Playing games is the worst. Let it go, grandpa. Boards are so last millennium.
I wish hockey didn’t have boards, hockey players are so lazy!

Different sport. Hockey is designed to play with boards, soccer isn't.

I can't help your lack of intelligence. That's all on you.

But it would be so much better without boards.

this could be one of the dumbest posts ever. Your kid kicks the ball out of bounds because they played indoor with boards for a couple of months? Withdraw her from soccer and get her into checkers. Maybe she'll be ok then. Seriously, nobody develops a habit of kicking the ball out of bounds because they play indoor with boards

My kid is screwed. Does “ball against the wall” everyday in our basement. Gunna be a total mess when they move outside.

Sure they do. I've seen it for years. They don't need to be precise with their passing since the boards will keep it in play. It breeds laziness.

Kids need to get their touches on the ball - be it outdoor, indoor (with or without walls), or against your basement wall. It all adds up.

Cool. Doesn't mean anything though grandpa. It still builds bad habits.

Why do you think you see more facilities with no boards now? Why do you think futsal is being embraced?

I love the "why back in my day..." comments.

Absolutely. If you were on an indoor facility, use it for touches. Touches meaning player to player, or by yourself. Not to a wall.

Now, if you are buy yourself and want to pass back and forth to a wall that's of course ok. Unless you are really, really, REALLY fast and can go get your own pass.

Playing a competitive soccer game in a hockey rink is wasteful.

You try to at young ages but then those players get replaced from other club players. The fact that OW takes outside players at older ages is all you need to know about their lack of success building soccer players

Thanks. I'll take my 38 years experience in the game at all levels up to (barely) pro and continue to evolve.

Get on a futsal court and out of the hockey rinks.
