I’ve been to several showcase so far as well, I’ve never once thought to count the coaches. There’s no harm in it, I just fail to see the point.

Our ECNL team has parents split the duties to hand out team brochures with info about each player and collect the coaches names that took one. From U15 and up, we regularly have had 50-100 coaches on the sidelines of the big ECNL showcases.

Must be a CFC Parent from one of the better teams. In my experience, FSA isn’t getting those crowds at ECNL showcases

No, the better question is why would anyone EVER count the number of coaches on the sideline of any game? It’s irrelevant unless you’re marketing the event. What’s relevant is how many coaches talk to your kid or contact them after the event. That’s what should be counted.

Seriously? I get that the number of coaches, in and of itself, isn't terribly relevant, but you generally know how many are there b/c the manager should be keeping track of what schools are in attendance. That way kids can follow up if they want and the coaches can see who's coming, etc. Pretty common for clubs to do this.

If you want further evidence of U14s not needing to travel to expensive showcases.....due to poor weather US Soccer has cancelled all U14 games scheduled for today. Tough for the kids. Paid for hotels since Friday and played two soccer games. Total disaster

And most of those kids have to decide about playing HS for next year. That isn't going to help DA. I agree having u14s do a national showcase is nuts. Have them do one at nationals end of the year and that's all. Some regional events are all you need to let them play teams they don't normally.

I have counted 60 + coaches on the sidelines of the stronger teams in the u17 age group

They're not watching your kid, they're watching the ones in their list. It doesn't matter if 200 are there. What matters is if the programs your kid contacted come to watch her.

The NE region plus LISC tallied up

12W - 6T - 43L

Three clubs had no wins and two didn't even have a tie, including NYCFC, a club that dominated the NE last year. Some of the wins were garbage teams against other garbage team.

because he's the first person that would use that info to trash a club. BTW, not the OP but lets be real. there's no other reason to check besides using that info against other clubs. this is TS, not some reputable blog.

Won't speak for everyone, but happy our team came out with two great, well-played games and no L.

They're basically the only club that did well against good competition. The rest, not so much.
