Thanks for the info! Some of the parents from our team overheard some of the other parents that someone cheated and we didn't know which team it was... we mistakenly thought it was the CFC teams since they had 2 different '06 teams in the tournament. Was surprised the next day when my daughter said she overheard the CFC coach saying it was OW that had an extra player but she didn't catch the entire conversation so we didn't understand what happened. Mistakes happen. Glad it caught up to them but feel sorry for the girls because they played very well.
funny that the cfc coach protested the game at the time he did 3/4 of the way through the game against ow being down 4-0 knowing they wouldnt make the finals on monday if they lost. maybe he should of checked the rules also. cfc sky and cfc orange had players playing for both teams in the tournament.

If that’s the case, then all 3 teams should have forfeited. Still unsure how CFC Orange beat CFC Sky when the Orange team felt like the weaker of the two in some of the other games.

Maybe that’s when the 19th player entered the field. Just sayin’

Depends if the event allows double rostering or not. Some events do, others don't or limit it to a certain number of players. If it wasn't allowed then 1) shame on CFC for doing it 2) shame on OW, the organizers, for not catching it.

East of the River Oakwood parent checking in. Great command of the English language man. Do you post hear often?
Let it go, its meaningless little kids soccer. These clubs are actually trying to support one another's events which makes for some decent options. Oakwood coach made a mistake and actions were taken. Happens all of the time. There have been forfeits in the DA when coaches use all players, lose one to injury and then allow a player to re-enter.
No one is arguing that Oakwood had an advantage. They violated a simple rule and got called out. Go to the CFC tournament (with 18 players) win it and then go enjoy your summer. If not, STFU because whining on here like a child is pathetic.

Here**
You are wrong!! Two separate teams, two separate rosters. Can you can point out which girl was “double rostered”? You are 100% wrong. They don’t even practice together and I watched both teams play since my kid has friends playing with both.
As to how did orange beat sky? Early silly mistake lead to a goal following with some serious and smart defending and fantastic goalie from orange coming through.
Now, rumor has it that after all was said and done, Orange coach forfeited the final due to injuries and that made Sky champion.
To be honest, without CFC teams, OPI is history. As an OW parent, I expect my kid’s club to abide by the rules and if any are violated, to follow through even if it’s their own teams violating them.

Thank you for putting all of the rumors to rest. Wish parents would just enjoy the game without taking the fun out of it for the kids; also wish parents would stop with the club bashing. DA, EDP, alphabet soup, etc... in the end, each kid will thrive where they fit best. Focus on your kid and stop worrying about everyone else.

So what I’m hearing is all clubs should stop signing up for OPI and go elsewhere, got it!
OPI is perfectly fine for the right level teams and certainly younger teams. It is not a showcase by any stretch. OW should not force their own teams to participate if other events are more appointment for them.

If you took the CFC teams out and the Sporting teams out you really have nothing left. A few Beachside, Rush and Western MA Pioneers teams and that’s your entire OPI tournament.

Well, FSA won't go if Sporting are there to give them a drubbing.
