If you daughter is u12 and looking at CFC for next year (u13), your best bet is to request to attend a training session and have the coaches take a look at your daughter (check the website for who to email). You can ask plenty of parents questions after practice and also determine if your daughter is comfortable in the environment. Otherwise, CFC has open tryouts coming up and you can register online. The open tryout option is a bit more chaotic as it tends to attract a lot of girls versus simply attending a practice for evaluation.

Generally speaking, CFC requires a major time commitment from both player and parent. The club tends to attract some serious players, for which soccer is their primary sport.
Thank you for a civilized response. Yes basketball is her other passion and if she can continue to play another year or two that would be great. She sill have to chose at some point but I think doing that at 12 is too young. I know spring lax would be impossible.

Basketball isn't impossible. It's tough on both parents and kids. My kid has done both. Biggest issue is the spring kickoff tournaments which overlap with basketball playoffs.

We left BS not too long ago. We still stay in touch with some of the parents we befriended over the few years our child played there. There seems to be a lot of disappointment and even anger directed at the program.
Sounds like Mickey and his people are chasing the almighty buck. That's too bad.

The pre-academy teams have historically been weak also. Top players go to DA, leaving younger or weaker players trying to figure out where they fit in the club.

lol yes you are right. Probably why they're expanding into two places for the ulittles as well - twice as many players to support the DA teams and make more $$$

Support the DA teams? You think those are free or reduced fees? No way.

What do they charge for DA teams? Aren't they supposed to be working to fee reduction as per USSF mandate?

Our son played there. We had issues with the two coaches - who were really not good people - it became untenable. I can't really comfortably recount all that went on, some of it was very unprofessional. Our son became disheartened and lost interest. We had to go. Luckily, he focused on his second sport and is doing quite wonderfully at it. So there is a happy ending, but our time at that program was not pleasant.

Preacademy and premier teams are money grabs nothing else.

BS having big problems with DAP as well. When the 16's lose to Seacoast 2-0 who are the worst team in all of Academy, there might be a few issues. How about that ride home for 4 hours. Ouch
