The majority of posters have one thought on their mind and that is to bring a kid to a club at 8 or 9 years old, and at 17 or 18 set and ready to play D1 college, and that’s their ideology of a great club..... well Keep dreaming.

The mechanics of a good club has many components to make it just that. One component is college placement, many players go to a Beachside or a Oakwood for just that.
I have yet to see a CT player perfect at his skills and iQ of the game , there’s always work to be done. A good DOC like Kydes will be that person to put a player in the right college environment , let’s remember these are 17,18 and 19 year olds many may not adjust to an Oregon or a UCLA, The obvious could be distance from home but most most times it’s style of play of coaching tactics to a player.

A Player who plays all four at one institute after being placed by his DOC is considered a success for the club, I can’t tell you how many kids have not taken advice from a club to only transfer a year or two later.

So I advise you see the many positives with clubs like Oak, BS and FCW. It’s not just about a win here or a lose there. There’s many great schools with horrible stats.
It makes sense. I confess that Ive never looked at it like that.
Reminds me of the days when I struggled getting my first job, I had all the qualifications but
I needed someone in the know, it ended up being my HS b-ball coach who was good friends with the Chief Marketing Officer of a company based in Houston.

        From website;
NYCFC has been built around being the only soccer team in New York City. For the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 season, the Academy will train at St. John’s University (Belson Stadium) and Orangeburg, NY.
FCW is in Purchase. NYCFC is St Johns

          Exactly.

Unfortunately that’s how it is sometimes.

I believe that the full NYCFC practices on Purchase fields until their new location is built

There’s truth to this, but the haters will never see it that way.

The word “assist” seems to be mentioned a lot on this board as if MKs assist is petty.

The way I feel is I’ll take an assist 24/7 —in b-ball, the soccer field or securing a sales deal in my day job.

                      Right on brother ..right on.

You can’t get things done without an assist/assistant.

                      Me luv the alley-oop.

No one said it was petty. Assists make scoring easy

AD had two goals this season. Why are you all talking about him like he is the next Pulisic?

That's a stretch there Elastic Man. Just discussing one player as an example of BS and the general state of CT soccer, development etc.

I believe a poster bashing BSC started it, i think hes gone back to Brookfield.

btw do you know who assisted the AD kid with those two goals? just curious.

Original poster didn't name him. An AC CT fan named him

First goal was assisted by Abdou Mbacke Thiam. Second goal was unassisted as he intercepted a pass back and went in on keeper
