In CT what choice is there this side of the state? Let’s say you don’t want to travel more than 45 minutes either way.
What’s out there...EA.... sorry, but I have a hard time explaining to my kid who wants to play soccer at a D1,2 or 3 school, that there will be no coaches recruiting at his sub par league games or tournaments while playing with HS level kids.

And forget about going to NYCFC or Redbulls because you can only have one age group per club. Many here make it sound like those clubs will accept anyone willing to travel the distance.
The kids getting PT at BS are all happy and won’t move unless their skill outgrows the program, and that’s pretty much with any club but moving from BS downwards to EA is not the Norm and I’ve never heard of that unless the kid got cut.

I just don’t know what the beef is, other than some have had a bad experience with BS.
They need to let it go and move on BS ain’t going nowhere.

Please how about last years Dap eastern player of the year. Played club and high school for three years and only played BS for one year. How’s his college career going. Just fine thank you. If the premier was so terrible he shouldn’t have even able to cut it at BS or Uconn. If you can play you can play. It doesn’t matter what patch you have on your shoulder. Explain that to your kid.

            He came from AC CT.
by the way six other AC kids were offered spots on BS academy teams before the fall season. All them said no and stayed with AC.

I know where he came from. I didn’t want to mention the club. It could be any club

Point is talent is everywhere. DAP snobs look down their noses like they have all of the talent or that premier training is inferior.

BS clearly doesn’t have a lock on all of the talent

Lol do some research before sentencing your kid to DA or BS. DA is not a necessity for college soccer. It pretty much is for top 50 D1 but past that if a player has skills and determination they can play lower level D1 D2 and certainly D3. Look at the rosters at different programs. Plenty of non DA players outside of the top programs; in fact DA can't fill all the spots out there. Why give up HS sports to end up at the same places non DA players do?

Stop now before you make an ever bigger azz out of yourself. From the Ma board - someone puts it together every year. This is the 2017 boys commitment list. Some of the DA commits aren't impressive at all; you can do the same without DA. If your kid wants DA and/or BS that's fine. But don't say it's a necessity to play in college or that there aren't options in CT, because there are. Play at a good club that does showcases, play HS, enjoy your life. No one is going pro from this state but once every 5 years.

Yes and maybe but not ‘ONE’ will be seen by a college coach just playing ****ty crappi teams in a ****ty crappi league, but I can bet those parents will send them to every camp possible. I get the emails just like them asking for 600 here 500 there and a whole list of assistant coaches who will be there who will invite you again and again.... cha Ching fool.

Look at the UConn players.. AD got UConn’s interest while balling at BS all the CT players recruited to UConn either played BS , Oak or FCW don’t know the process in MA and since this is a CT board please don’t clog the system we don’t care about MA and what works for them, and the Pvt schools are in another sphere.

The only Azzes are the ones that truly believe college guys especially head coaches go out of their way to watch CJSA, NPL or EDP games.... they don’t!

I can tell you one fact and that is ...Head Coaches do go to Academy games and now the season is nearly a wrap, most not in the D1 playoffs will be in Florida for the DA showcase.

The days of premier players being recruited at these silly league games to watch EA or AC ct play are over. No one is saying those players won’t be recruited because that would be plain stupid of a comment, but a parent is making it harder on their child not being seen at a good program.
Academy play is not only about being seen and recruited but level of play, it being the closer of level to college play .
College teams have seen a rise with Freshmans being ready to play almost immediately due to the success from Academy play, this is not my opinion it’s fact.

No such offered were made, I know because I’m on the inside.
But let’s say for arguments sake it’s true , so they will stay? So please follow up with their initials and which school they will commit too.
Only D1 commitments please ....don’t forget.
