Going to be interesting this year when DC holds real tryouts.... can’t wait to see some of the ECNL kids replaced with some outside kids or RL kids. Will be ironic next year at the age of U16 when ECNL really matters that some of the long time kids are kicked to the curb. And make no mistake DC is looking to replace some of the existing kids, the team needs to be improved...

Not really ... DC hasn't seen the RL players except for who were used for scrimmage (and that was probably with BB's blessing) since they don't go to the same HS as his daughter or they play a different sport at the HS. There were only 5 at the farce of the ID clinic because the RL girls were uninvited - same with the 05 team...makes you wonder why BB is so afraid to have open ID clinics and open and honest tryouts - there were many clubs that had tryouts...

that is where you are wrong - most clubs want to be able to field the best teams, not the ones that help with the carpool, are part of a BRD, or are friends with certain kids.....

Its not RL so they are winning in that respect. RL is lower than sand lot soccer

This is what’s wrong in a nutshell with being on a RL team - it seems RL players are looked down upon and viewed with zero respect, never given the chance to make the ECNL team. If ECNL wanted to make RL desirable and successful they would encourage promotion from the RL team... this rarely happens. And this is the reason GAL will have some success. Most kids would rather be on a top team at a club than looked at like the evil step sister on a clubs second team. And since the costs of RL and GAL are similar you will find players choosing GAL teams rather than RL.

Thanks bucks parents for clarifying what we suspected all along. I wonder if DC is appreciative of you driving people away from RL teams?

Maybe and in some cases ECNL teams are lower than some GAL and some RL teams it really is all dependent on the talent of a team - not the league they play in... pretty sure 2006 bucks would lose to some GAL teams and EDP teams like the whipping they took from PA classics and Real in scrimmages and I’m sure some high level RL team would also beat 2006 bucks ECNL. See just because you have a patch doesn’t mean you are actually a good (or bad) team.

Both the 06 & 07 ecnl teams would get crushed by Ukies GAL teams - would be lucky to score 1 goal - but wouldn't want my daughter on either one of those teams - coach doesn't do what he says he is going to do, doesn't reward girls for working hard and improving
