In what counties? That league also has Oregon teams in counties where numbers are high.

Where do you get that from? I've been reading the opposite.

We just saw one of the Oregon teams is in a zip code with one of the highest Covid counts in Oregon. Is that why they aren’t playing in their own local association? ***?

The state level data is interesting. Washington is at 107% of expected deaths for the year, vis-à-vis 112% nationwide. So we've done significantly better than the country overall and most states. But quite a few states have managed to keep excess deaths under control with far fewer restraints on various activities, including school and youth sports. Some of those include North Carolina (88% of expected deaths), West Virginia (86%), Ohio (105%), Utah (109%), Oklahoma (103%), and Missouri (105%) (some relatively open states like Texas (117%), Arizona (125%) and Florida (116%) also have some of the worst numbers). And some of the worst numbers are in states that shut down as much or more than WA and did so early on: New York (120%), Massachusetts (117%), Maryland (118%). While the state's stay at home policies surely saved lives early on when hospitals were overwhelmed, identified cases were concentrated in people most at risk, and no one had figured out how to treat the disease, it's not clear that our current mix of policies is saving lives relative to the somewhat less restrictive policies currently in place in many states.

our state is not better off than states that are wide open. No reason we cant be wide open and take the necessary steps to stay safe.

Yes it appears so. Things will be closed for at least 2 weeks. Most people believe soccer will not be starting up after the 2 weeks. So the season is done.

Honestly even next season, Spring 2021 is questionable.

Best case scenario for Washington kids, assuming that Biden and Inslee both win, is that Inslee accepts a cabinet position and whoever is elected as Lt. Gov acts like 45 other governors in the country. Soccer in WA won’t return as we know it as long as Inslee is Governor until a vaccine is both available and effective. Cases will only get worse throughout the winter and, even if hospitalizations and deaths decrease, Inslee is more likely to tighten restrictions vs. loosen. I still don’t believe cases per 100k is a valid metric for outdoor youth sports, it Jay Inslee does so...

Good try sound, but that's not how it works. Rules clearly state it's based on where players reside. Not on where the organization claims its office is. Otherwise every king county club could just rent a cheap office in Snohomish and start holding games.

Their office is in Woodinville, the majority of their players reside in king county. I'm sure they'll be shut down soon too.

Snohomish County numbers are climbing, so they earned themselves...what, exactly? Two weeks of internal scrimmages?

He would have been better off keeping it closed. Rather than play with kids emotions. Hey kids here is a taste, oh you liked it now I am going to take it away again. I don’t want to hear anyone say they care about kids mental health. They just don’t.
