She’s a joke. The review above regarding her political and favoritism is spot on. We’ve seen it time and time again. I have a current player on one of her teams and have been currently seeking out other clubs to have another plan for next year if there is she remains on the team. Others on the team are also looking. Steer clear of this coach.

Can you please elaborate? Your accusation is really vague. We are currently on her younger team and have not seen anything like this. I honestly have only good things to say about Claire.

what do you mean that she’s being political? Like, you need to give her gifts in order for your player to gain favoritism? Thank you!!!!!

I think the same parent is the OP and then agreeing with himself bellow. Someone is just bitter that little Betty didn’t make the red team.

                But I have a suggestion.

Obviously you can’t say anything specific or demonstrate how she discriminates against all these players. Or explain how the club and everyone despises her.

You just keep wining about your little Betty not being “the favorite”.

So I suggest if you have something to report, go report it to the club, or go report to Safe Sport. Otherwise, shut the **** up, put on your big boy pants, and get over it.

She's a female coach with a UK accent. Great poster coach for Eastside. Not coaching style/strategy.

Each week a different EFC coach is getting **** on in this forum. I wonder who will be next…

I’m a referee and refereed her game two months ago. Good coach and cares about her players from what I saw. I’ve seen other coaches yell at their teams like at XF.

exactly, respectful. high level of discipline on her teams but she is always kind.

It took my daughter about two weeks to get used to her accent. But I should note, English is a second language for my daughter, so there’s always a learning curve for her with various accents.

Well, there are a lot of not so great coaches at Eastside. But to be fair, you could claim that for all of the clubs. None of the big clubs are known for having top shelf coaches.

But b/c of the Eastside’s location and ECNL status, they still pull in decent players. They are in a sweet spot, at least the boys side where nobody really expects them to compete with SU and XF. So if they finish the season in 3rd place, the coaches are thought to be amazing, when they’re actually mediocre. Hopefully, adding Troy is a step in the right direction for the club that actually wants to compete for titles.

But this isn’t about competing. It’s in regards to player development. If it’s about competing then what Claire appears to be doing is what she needs to do to win.

Troy did a good job last year with the boys and cared about the development. This year seems to be a bit different. He ran Emerging Talents, and it looked like a cash grab. He had about 50 kids out there by himself trying to instruct. It was a complete cluster f, by the third session, we were done. The kids were just doing the exact thing and he still had no help, which he just focused on a select few. Sooo should he be nitpicked for favoritism?

No. You got it all wrong. Everything worked as it should - just those few were the emerging talents, not everyone the group. And not your kid at this point of his/her development, but don’t give up, nothing is set in stone.

Let me put it more simply. On the boys side Eastside for whatever reason does not attract the top talented athletes in the area. So in order for their teams to actually compete with SU and XF they need better coaches who can actually develop players. Playing boot ball against bigger, stronger, faster kids is a fools errand. Could be totally different on the girls side.
