hopefully Claire and friend(s) learned a lesson. Parents may not be versed in soccer either but it doesn’t take someone older than a child to see what has been outlined in this thread. Turns out that cults aren’t great for kids

Do you think there is different situation in any other top club ? No favoritism? Players missing bunch of practices and sometimes tournaments, and coming back to their starter position as nothing happened. Mediocre players as a starters but heavily backed up by stronger players during the games. Somebodies kids or relatives making the first teams just because of strong connections with club director. Great players sitting on the bench because they are not liked by coaches. Players sent to bench immediately for minor mistake while others are playing full time not doing well at all, and you just start guessing what is going on there…It’s sickening to see but this is reality of top level teams and overall competition between players and club pressure on coaches. Think about this and especially think twice before making decisions on switching your top team to another one.

Sure, it occurs at all clubs but not all coaches. And when it’s blatantly in front of your face, yeah, time to make a change. Any parent with their child’s best wouldn’t keep them in that environment. There are many great coaches out there who don’t play favorites and focus on the players development. I’d never second guess a switch because this occurs at “every top club”. That’s a lame excuse. There so SO many great coaches out there that you can definitely find someone better than Claire.

          Nope. Every single one.
If you don’t see it, then your child is a favorite.

Agreed. Happens with teachers in school and supervisors in jobs.

Get used to it. It’s life.

Not true. No favorites on current teams.

I see that Claire’s ECNL team did really well this weekend in their 0-6 loss.

Wow. I thought they were a good team, considering that they are second in the ECNL league. Were they missing important players?

They are very good team! Please do not spread your assumptions only by looking on most recent ECNL statistic. They are solid 2nd place team in conference sand I am sure will be in playoffs. The score seams weird, totally not representing their true skills. I bet something happened. May be players were tired or had mini injuries from previous games/overtraining . May be they got bad news day before the game and it affected their spirit.

Or maybe it was the team lunch at Taco Bell before the game.

Goalkeeper errors. It happens at this age. XF is better but not 6 goals better.
