Pretty sure this is going to happen this year. Oregon is bottom dwellers of whatever league they are in.

Actually CU is a top twenty ECNL club. This years class at CU 03's has kids going to many great schools, University of Colorado, UofP, UW, OSU, Colgate just to name a few. Probably one of the best teams ever to come out of this State. Just saying

Next season, the 03s will be reduced by half; as this year's seniors graduate. After that, they're gone. CU got lucky, and a rather talented player from Tualatin joined the club.

But other than one age group, the idea that Crossfire United is a top 20 club in the West, let alone the United States, is laughable.

The KIA performs better, gets better gas mileage, is more reliable, more comfortable and will last longer. But yeah, I'd rather drive a Range Rover. Same with ECNL. Expensive, and not as good, but sounds better at the water cooler.

That is silly. CU is probably top ten in the state at most age levels. The 03's are probably top five at their age level.

CFC kid at Arizona who played OYSA. Sure beats the hell out of last place OSU which seems to be a great place for a random CU kid who’s used to being in last place. Never mind the kids who didn’t even play in college.

Coaches selling a league while the results don’t add up. The story is all too common in Oregon.

Correction. CFC kid is on the roster at Arizona after parents spent thousands on a professional recruiter. She’s not playing though. Didn’t even make the travel team when they came to Oregon for two games. Hopefully she likes the school and didn’t pick it just for soccer.

While this isn't at the Lori Laughlin level, this is a laughable defense of what is obviously a conflict of interest--and one that is being bragged about rather openly. If OSU has a recruiting preference for one particular club, then it hurts a) the program overall, if more talented players are being passed over, and b) kids at other clubs. And if players at CU are being steered into a bottom-feeding D1 program where some other college might be a better fit, that's also a problem.

In general, college programs and youth clubs should maintain an arms-length relationship. If a youth club is touting its relationship with a college program, that's a big red flag.

Recruiting is hard. You get to see a kid a couple times and if they are really good you have to sign them fast. Having insider information about the kid and their attitude and work habits is really valuable.

I see it as a positive for the school.

That worked with the UP/FCP connection for many years. Then it kinda went downhill when FCP wasn't keeping up standards.
