And travelling to distant cattle calls in order to land an 0.1FTE at George Fox or Grand Canyon College, is not a good investment, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a bridge. Take the airfare and the hotel charges, and invest it in a good 529.
Youth soccer should NEVER be viewed as a financial investment. You're better off spending the money on Megabucks.

In your case as a person with large piles of disposable income you have opted for a different and divergent path of following the guidance of neighborhood soccer bum(s).
This path to enlightenment leaves you only one small step way from disposing all of your income with your favorite cult.
Since you have DISPOSABLE BRAIN we don't have any words to leave with you.
Please money manager. Can I buy it? Please! Pretty please! I worked hard for this. My family loves the environment. We want it. Can we have it? No? Then f-off. I am doing it anyway. Yes. Yes. Its mine. All mine. All mine. Thank you though for you advise.
By the way no money manager would ever say no. They say yes and provide solutions on how to make it work.
I could go on and on. Your arguments don't even resonate in your own head. I will let you think about how you choose to spend your money. I am absolutely positively confident YOU DECIDE how its spent. I also would bet that you would not like me telling you that you are a dummy to spend it that way. Am I correct?

Just don't expect a financial ROI from any of these things.
Money managers are only qualified to give investment advice; and are not qualified to judge the potential return on business ventures in general. OTOH, they can do the calculations and tell you what the break-even return would be should you start sinking money into youth activities in anticipation of a scholarship. You can figure out the rest.

So why would we stay with someone asking us to burn our disposable income on travel soccer who is constantly peddling it based on a false unproven narrative.
Unlike some of the posters we travel to enjoy a vacation, our dd flying all over the country to play teams that are the same as those in our state every other weekend does allow her to pile up mileage that we could use towards future actual vacation travel.
Great point.

He's got quite a bad case of the tantrums.
I for one get a good laugh every time he has one of his tantrums.
Keep at it Title IX Ted. It’s good to laugh.
I for one hope he sticks around. It's funny in a very sad kind of way.

School is the top priority for my kids but they are competitive and love playing competitive sports. One has dropped out of soccer and, typical boy, plays club basketball & baseball. My other kid loves soccer and just about every other sport and is very good. She plays on an expensive travel team because she enjoys playing with and against other competitive players. She also loves to travel. Not ready to be limited to one sport yet and not sure she even wants to play sports in college due to the time demands but why should that stop her from playing the best soccer/basketball/etc she can now? She wouldn’t be happy playing rec or non-travel soccer (due to the generally lower level of commitment and skill on those teams). She loves a challenge, has fun, gets to travel with her teammate friends, has a strong body & heart and has learned many life skills and lessons in a high pressure, competitive team environment. Priceless. She’ll be one of those adults that plays in adult leagues of all kinds of sports until she’s 80 because she plays for the love of the games. Fact is we are all charged too much for club sports but that’s the way it is. Wish it didnt cost so much and blessed to be able to pay for it but no regrets for all the money we spend on travel sports and music lessons.

Layered onto to this irrational and laughable travel platform, these clubs mandate the girls must play the other 3 months of the year recreational HS ball.
This convoluted local club 'pathway' is exposed for what it is: a complete joke for the Oregon Girl and their paying parents.
Only in Oregon and only in Girls sports could this be possible.
Well done.

Be nice. Title IX Ted has nothing else in his life. Sad.
