They can basically strike a soccer ball, but have no other skills. Now I am not saying you have to be a great player to be a great coach, but if you list you played pro and can’t even play men’s league in Portland there is something fishy. These were not past their prime coaches either, these were coaches in their mid 20’s with extensive “professional playing” backgrounds who couldn’t make some of the local high school teams if they tried.
It seems these types of coaches are found more coaching girls soccer or women’s college soccer.

It’s official, SCA will not be playing in any leagues in Oregon

Where are these kids that are paying $2000 a year to play soccer play their league games? No state cup either? Filling team rosters with mixed genders just to bring in enough money to survive?

Maybe they can merge with BridgeSwift Academy and enter teams under Oregon United FC

            ORU Swift Chance Academy Elite

No chance MJ would pass on the cash.

3 entities formed so their directors can make a living without working. Plain and simple.

If this is true that they got denied, I would be anything they now will go do futsal for the year, and claim that was their main goal to start with. And those kids will say anyways cuz they got lured in.

As stated on numerous occasions in this thread. SCA players will play OYSA under a different team. And train with SCA x3 times a week + additional scrimmages (OYSA games volume not enough).

                    Hope this helps, again.

Under a different team? You think another club is going to let them come in and take their club name without charging any money? There is no way that happens.

There are many who wish your team well. I am one from an oysa club team. I am saddened by the joy many others get from trying to stop your team from playing year after year. All because they want their own team to not have to compete against yours and lose. Without the best teams, any victories are hollow. Integrity would want to be the best by beating the best, not by simply excluding the best. This goes for all of oysa as well as gda/da and ecnl. Oregon should rise above and our top teams from all three leagues should be playing each other multiple times and supporting each other. Until then, Oregon soccer will remain mediocre and our talented, hard working players won’t develop to their full potential.

In your team’s case, your girls are living the Nike dare to dream and they all have impactful college essay material about taking the path less travelled and surviving despite all the road blocks and exclusion. Good luck to your players and all the players in Oregon!

Monetize the cheapest sport in the world to play. What a novel concept. Turn it into a business of selling nothing and getting paid in Oregon. Brillant.

What team will they play under? It seemed pretty clear in the letter from OYSA that a for profit club couldn’t partner with a non profit club to gain access to the league.

Futsal all year long would be epic if there is good competition. Outdoor soccer sucks in the NW because the weather stinks.
