Both 03's with CU that are committed have been with CU ECNL since their birth year was available. One was THUSC the other was Westside.

Those are the facts and the rest of your arguments are meaningless. Everyone who is anyone in the PDX soccer world knows this so end of discussion.
US Club & USYS are simply the 2 preeminent sanctioning bodies for Youth league play in the states.

US Soccer DA, is a different animal altogether, this is the top of the pyramid for all things soccer in the States (youth, amateur, pro etc..), the DA is run under the direction of the USWNT & UWMNT they have MLS, NWSL and select youth clubs in this development platform all across the country.

Understanding this seems to be difficult for so many, it's not easy sifting through the alphabet soup that is youth soccer modern day.

In Oregon the NWSL Thorns were asked by US Soccer to field a Youth Development Academy, subsidize it, just like they did with the MLS Timbers in 2012 for boys. As such Thorns & Timbers DA take all their marching orders from US Soccer.
If you don't like the structure and ambitions of this US Soccer initiative, reach out them and tell them your concerns.

US Club is a sanctioning Youth league entity which is the minnow program to the established USYS (OYSA is part of USYS).

USYS offers State, Regional & National Leagues. With offices/headquarters in every state. They also have the bona fide Youth National Championship Series crowning National Champs for 70+ years.

US Club offers whatever leagues they can, with the ambition of getting clubs to join.
Oregon tasted the strange OPL US club league for a short time, then it folded. They (US Club) have only a small number of total clubs and players vs. USYS monster. So they are trying to carve a piece out of the USYS enormous pie, american capitalism of course.

None of our local clubs have the opportunity to be part of the US Soccer DA (besides the veiled little 'DA' charade).

Conversely, every single Oregon club can elect to join a US Club or USYS league, it's a CLUB choice.

Tell your club, the one you pay monthly, semi-annually or annually your thoughts about joining any league. You are the paying the costs of membership, hopefully your voice can be heard since you are responsible for their existence.

Only 2 clubs in Oregon elected to join any US Club league offering after the OPL fizzled out. These two club have had a roller coaster experience due to the mass defections of clubs nationwide to the DA platform in 2017. With their first 2 years strictly as fodder in the league, after the club rapture, they became one of the top club teams in the Pacific Division that is part of the NW Conference in the US Club league.

          Hope that helps.

USSoccer has run the men's team in USA from the beging and has always been annoyed with the womens side. This feeling towards the womens side can be seen in the great disparage between salaries and funding between the two. Alas the womens team thrived and did better under the very American way of, cream will rise to the top of you let it. ECNL offered a platform for all to play and grow. College influenced this with many different styles of play and platforms. As Anson Dorrance so tactfully pointed out, for the womens side it worked. " We are the world f###ing champs" Hope that helps.....

Maybe US Soccer should ignore money grabs and control and copy the womens way. No never mind it would never work.

US Soccer has produced 3 World Cup women's champion teams '91, '99 & '15 with a player pool developed by the USYS leagues/championshis & ODP platforms. The 16 years of not winning had much to do with actual footballing nations closing the gap due to the cellar placement of soccer in the american sporting culture. No one cares.

Women's College Soccer in the states is a great way for girls to get an education and continue playing a sport they love, with very few ever become pros domestically or abroad. Title IX created Women's College Soccer, it's a cheap sport for colleges to administer, as a non-revenue sport that must be funded (title IX), despite the Schools disfavor for said activities. It's a solution based on economics, not having any real support or following from alumni, student body or faculty. Which everyone knows on match day.

Clubs are guilty of this money grab from clueless parents and US Soccer is smashing it out on the girls side. It isn't pretty.

Helps us to understand that the Timbers interns get paid by the word. Do you really think anyone A) believes you or B) cares what your opinion is? My daughter committed to the D1 school of her dreams and is very happy on her CU team. Sorry your GDA experiment is swirling down the drain.

                    US Soccer

Men's head coach: Salary $275,000 per month. Sitting home sad, eating nachos and drinking cheap warm beer during World Cup.

Women's head coach: Salary $26,000 per month. Should win World Cup.

Yeah, US Soccer not really good decisions on women's soccer.

Now that US Soccer is encroaching on girls soccer hopefully they don't crash it into the ground like they did with men's soccer. What a mess.

Obviously wage in this realm bears no resemblance to product developed on field. Would be interesting to hear US Soccer validate the wage discrepancy.
