Sounds about right. Thorns will compete well with B teams from stronger clubs. Their grueling schedule this year prepared them well.

With so many clubs across the country joining the GDA in combined age group formats loaded with the best talent from two entire birth years, it's hard to compare anything just yet. Oregon has 2 clubs that opted to sacrifice themselves and their parents paychecks, for a little while when the ECNL was relevant and got smoked nearly every outing, which was a surprise to nobody. Now if those two local clubs are allowed to stay in what remains of the ECNL, they may fare betteras the top slice of talent from that league has gone to the GDA. But, it may not matter as their(CU/FC P) top players perhaps just the best 3 to 5 of an age group tryout and are able to make the Thorns new DA then it could again just be a re run of the last 3 seasons.

Relying on results from this past year means nothing going forward.

How different can they be when we are told the Thorns gda teams will be almost the same rosters as current Thorns academy teams? Weren't the academy players told they have spots for next year?

Huh? They are only going to pay for the best players that tryout..if not why would they invest millions in the program.

Easy to say when you just bad mouthed ECNL teams and were shown the 00 ECNL team outperformed one of two Thorns teams. The 00s are part of a club that has their talent split into four age groups. Thorns had their best from two years and the ECNL team still outperformed them. I think this game says a lot. Sorry you don't get it.

No. None have been offered roster spots as of yet.

Current players are sweating it. Family of a girl who moved from our team to academy has already reached out to our team manager hinting she will probably be back.

The CU and FC clubs have a team that has been outscored by a margin of 4 goals for and 64 goals against in just 10 games this year while playing other bottom feeders in their league.

Sorry you don't get reality. That team doesn't reflect all the teams at CU and FC, just like a one off win against another teams reserve squad doesn't change what the 00's actually are.

You are seriously gripping and stretching the boundaries of common sense when the body of work tells an entirely different story.

Given the realities in front of you I don't blame you for playing the last card into the burn pile.

That team is simply better than Timbers (two years combined) and obviously it bugs you. No one bottom feeds better than Thorns.

Not sure what to believe. We were told Thorns Academy had the very best players in the state. We were told they were way better than the ECNL teams. They crushed everyone in OYSA. We were told all those best are already there and get to stay on for GDA. Other than maybe a few that want to leave to play multiple sports & hs soccer. What is the truth? Is it truly going to be open tryouts? Most current academy players think they already have spots on gda.

The current academy is not GDA. GDA is an entirely new program and league launching this year. Tryouts for everyone.

Then why am I hearing that current academy players are already penciled in on the GDA rosters? If not, players 12-25 would already be knocking on doors. None of the starters are worried, I can tell you that. Why would top players from other teams try out if all the starting spots are already locked up?

                                Because they are not.
Call the coach of your dd age group and ask.
