Players 7-23 on GDA rosters will want privates to try to get better for more playing time. Players 7-23 don't benefit from little playing time and zero soccer outside of GDA trainings, including privates not allowed, needed or not.

No (6A) Oregonian Girl that was all-state in (6A) Soccer has ever been All-State in Basketball, Softball or Track in the last decade. The best girl's in soccer were playing year round soccer and couldn't compete for the HS in the winter and spring sports.

The Basketball coaches wish club soccer would be abolished as the girls opt to play local club soccer over HS B ball.

Sell crazy somewhere else. Simply false.

Salem superstar (5A soccer player of the year as a freshman) was a varsity player on state finalists Silverton, and was listed as a top freshman to watch by Oregon Live. She's also a darn good track athlete. But thorns academy will put an end to all that.

With no evidence to support it's absolutely true in your imagination.

List the All-Stars at the 6A level in Basketball & Softball that are also All-State in Soccer.

The best of the best girls in Soccer don't play the other sports in HS, they don't have the time or interest. It is what it, is.

All-league HS girls soccer players aren't what the GDA is after, those girls will continue to play whatever they want when they want. Which is the way it should be.

The top 1% of girls is what the GDA is after that's enough to fill the squads they field.

Get your facts straight. Thorns will be training 3x week. 24 games over ten months. Twice or Three times to Seattle. Four times to CA by plane, and playing double headers. One by plane to Utah. All the rest home games.

ECNL parents, please calm down and stop spreading misinformation.

The true superstars don't need GDA but some may want it. Certainly not all due to the huge sacrifices. How many decades ago since the last Oregon raised girl made the USWNT or even went pro to a NWSL team? Guarantee you, if your dd is the next Mal Pugh, she can play HS soccer, basketball, etc and she'll be just fine. If your dd isn't top elite level, no amount of GDA or Ecnl is going to get her past the CA top players, even if she plays 24/7/365. She can stay dedicated at her local club and end up at Portland State or UO or wherever she would've if she'd played GDA/ECNL. Play hard but enjoy life. The USWNT isn't in any of our girls future. Study more and college options & scholarships will be increased more.

Anything lower than 6A is not a discussion.

Small schools need their athletes to turn out for all sports, especially girls mostly rural schools don't have a stockpile of female athletes.

Just list the 6A girls that are STARS on other HS Sports teams, not just on the squad.

And what's so great about GDA is they have a huge focus on college placement which Mike Smith went over with parents last night..plus only pay $2k a year for soccer!

Ok. Academy girl from Eugene was 6a first team as a freshman and also a legit star in track and cross country. But I guess she will be hanging up her running spikes.

. State Track & Field isn't til the end of this month so it's impossible to be all-state as a freshman in T&F.

None of these girls are all-state 1st team in Soccer.

the thorns say they are ignoring the US Soccer DA rule that requires 4 trainings per week minimum. also apparently ignoring the US Soccer rule prohibiting a try out fee.
