Ha if ADF is such a bad place to be for player development than why are all the BSC and Timber coaches inviting all their players over for "kick around".

And further to your comments regarding kick abouts with other clubs; you have already lost two players to one of those clubs, you have a handful of others looking very closely at the best DA options, and you will no doubt lose a number to Timbers DA.

I think that your for-profit non-scalable club actually has some great ideas with regards to player development. It's unfortunate that it finds itself in its current predicament. Hopefully, ADF finds a solution in order to allow bringing a different twist to competitive youth soccer

There is no single age group for 05s in Oregon and the 05s in DA now are all getting beaten down with no play time. The 05 Timbers academy team is rumored to have a corrupt coach that serves two masters. There will be plenty of competition in OYSA this next year for those 11 and 12 year olds. No reason to stick boys that age on tour buses just to satisfy one obsessive dads desire to surround his little Jimmy with the finest in hopes some of the talent runs off.

Some may find when they leave ADF that the training is just simply not as good.
It will be interesting to see what happens with The 04s.

These poor kids are being yanked around by their parents all in search of greener pastures and truth be told of the 120+ 04 boys that will move through the DA program next year only 25 will make the Academy team at u15. None of the six DA programs will have DA past u14. So where will the 90+ DA kids go after they don't make Academy? Will they go into Academy reserve teams so they can be practice cones for the Academy teams? What are these slick DA coaches telling the ADF boys while they are recruiting them during State Cup? "Come on over for one year and get our top of the line DA training"..???

There are seven DA teams, not six.
Not really sure why you seem to think that the only place that you can get good training is ADF. I think you are wrong on that one too. Strike three, yer out.

Would he become stronger tactically and potentially in other aspects (mental & emotional growth)? Very likely. But he LOVES gaining ball skills, quickness and coordination and gets bored quickly with more strategic training at this age. Being at ADF is keeping him engaged and excited about soccer. Will he play in college or beyond? Who knows, but he's having a blast right now and we're staying put.
I'm not too worried that you're not overwhelmed by DA players that you have observed. (Do you go to their games, or does your son go to the same supplemental training as a DA player?).
I'm also not trying to recruit you...stay where you are. It sounds good for your son!
Just remember, it YOU who is hanging around in the Boys DA forum...wonder why that is?

If the DA programs were so tremendous for player development last year than why has more than half of the ADF 04 team been solicited by various DA coaches in the past two months.
These players were not seeking you out.. you wereclurking at NWCL and FWRL games and Rose City Futsal to approach these kids parents. I guess if you can't develop them yourselves you need to get them from someone who can. Sad.

Again - not saying DA coaching is way more tremendous than the probably awesome stuff you are getting at ADF...it's just different. Your kid likes it there and is enjoying his soccer as a result. That's what it's all about.
No DA people were recruiting ADF players at nWCL or FwRL..because we weren't there. DA teams only participate in DA events.
What I have seen is DA players 'recruiting'non DA players at RCF, and possibly RTC/ODP. Essentially, either schoolmates or kids who have become friendly, asking their new mates to join them at their club.
Don't know too much about parents or coaches, at least at our club..recruiting.
So the two lads who left ADF: weren't they looking for additional training and found a DA club on their own? Didn't then, because the training was decent, they ask other ADF players to join them for that additional training? Sort of recruiting in reverse that you've got going on over at your club, huh?

To the above. No.. the boys didn't find it in their own. A coach from the DA team was out at Delta watching them play and approached their parents.

The entire pool practices together, but only 13 can be on the game day roster.
This discussion is about the lack of games for those players not making it onto a DA game day roster, and the option to benefit those players by allowing them to get games with the clubs OYSA teams
