Everyone knows if attend any UC, especially CAL, you will be ubale to major and handle the rigors of enginerring, pre-med or anything else with subtance. Almost 50% of the students are high achieving asians and if your dd is spending all that time training on the field they will struggle.

Now if their goal was to use soccer to,gain admission and then quit after the first year to major in something with substance then props to them.

Lemay was hired by Neil to help tap into the so cal talent. It's working.

Lets be honest. The FC team this great recruiting class came from was not great. How could it be a great class for UofP when the bulk came from one ECNL team that was well below average.

Because, at it turns out, great players don't always equal great teams and visa versa. There are and will be plenty of very talented D1 prospects that come from below average teams. Heck even some of the Timbers programs are proof of that. The talent that UP took from FC were players that were recruited hard by numerous PAC12 and WCC teams among others.

Listen CAL snob, white girls and African American girls find success on the field AND in the classroom every year at Stanford, UW, Baylor and Vanderbilt in engineering, pre-med, business, and the like. Amazingly they compete head-to-head with "high achieving Asians". Nothing that special about UC schools.

They took 5 from one team. If you have 5 players that make up your top 25 recruiting class in the nation then that team shouldn't have struggled.

We both think that Oregon will likely need to get a new coach. You are probably more qualified than me to judge soccer as I have only spectated and you may coach. Even so, I love soccer, watch many college games and those were my observations.
UO needs better players. Program can't be blamed on Mertz yet. Needs a couple more years with her own recruited players. Don't upset apple cart when getting better.

I think that this year she has all of her own players. These are her recruits.

You are the one throwing out assumptions and are showing your insecurities. Sorry to hit so close to home with your DD. And I'm not name dropping, I actually have met both of them. I know exactly the quality of that class.

It really was the tale of two halves. Oregon controlled possession and was pushing offensively. The second half was exactly the opposite. That's why Colorado put in two on them. Really terrible defending in the box by Oregon to give up the PK.

I think next. Either way give Kay's freshmen time to become juniors & see. If still no good, time for a change.

I never doubted that you met them, however, needing to mention them on the forum tells us a lot about you.....

Her record, likely the worst in Oregon soccer history speaks for itself.

No, it add credence to the posts. Chris was hired to improve recruiting in SoCal, which is what he has done. Neil is like all Pac 12 coaches, arrogant ass save for Leslie Gallimore. Again, good luck cracking that lineup. Gift offer from AD doesn't equal playing time.

You keep beating your chest about this and talking about these people by their first name and no one cares.... You simply have a problem with this girl, or there is no way you would be repeating yourself over and over and over... pathetic, seriously. And to your previous comments your talking about these guys does not give credence to your posts, just makes you sound like a jacka**

You doth protest too much dad. Sorry to hit home. Talk to the FC coaches. They will tell you the same thing, she got her offer due to your relationship to the AD. So when you and your fellow parents claim this class is "so much better" than other classes, subtract at least one from those numbers.
