I don't know which girl you are referring to, and I don't care. The girls will be fine, you will always be an awful person, attacking young girls on a public forum. You are the one I worry about. Why would anyone want to attack a youth player and chip away at their confidence? You are a prime example as to what is wrong with this world.

To all the girls getting an opportunity at college soccer, good for them, they are kids, and it is their dream. We should all wish them the best.

The different is that is sports commentary and those are current college players, not high school juniors. Also there was no mention of an AD in anyone's back pocket or mention of a scooter. In other words it was about soccer and kept professional. Your commentary is simply childish and obviously comes from some sort of envy or jealousy.

The new players are average. UofP will not be good until they hire a quality coaching staff and start to bring in players outside of FC Portland.

From a statistical standpoint smith sticks around.

However with the rich history of Portland soccer I do wonder if they are thinking about a change. Whoever they replace him with needs D1 experience and success.

TIffany Roberts - head coach at UCF
CHris Lemay - cal asst coach

If the Oregon kid got money then she will play. I can tell u that kid macario from surf got a full.

Just because you get money doesn't mean you will play. The best players play, period. He isn't there to lose by playing players who got money. It doesn't work that way in D2, and it sure as hell doesn't work that way in the Pac 12.

Don't worry, she wasn't going to get any time anyway. Gift from the AD doesn't equal playing time. And Chris has his ear and most of those girls are from his former club team. But hey, she gets a scooter. Nice on those Berkeley hills.

The new players are average. UofP will not be good until they hire a quality coaching staff and start to bring in players outside of FC Portland.

UP had the highest rated recruiting class in the WCC this year. Just because you have FC Portland envy doesn't mean your bashing holds any intrinsic value

UO coach should get a couple more years to prove. They are improving.

UO has done very well in preseason the past couple of years and then craters in Pac 12 play. In my opinion the team is actually very good but makes extreme tactical errors. This was evidenced yesterday with the Own goal and then a penalty in the box which resulted in a 3-1 win by Colorado. Oregon outplayed Colorado on almost every level, but clearly not the one that counts.

Having said that, prior to this year Ms. Mertz had issues with her treatment of players. Last year 7 players transferred out. The athletic department likely spoke to her about this as it not only represents the soccer program but also the University as a whole and not in a good way. This year she has made a better attempt at being inclusive and having team building and even playing more of the players. Last year they had 32 at one point on the roster and generally only played 15 or 16 in any given game,. So, half the team was miserable as not only did they not play but that got to sit there and witness loss after loss.

I think we need to wait and see how she does with the remainder of the Pac 12. If Oregon ends up in 12th place as predicted I believe they should find a different coach. If they move up to say 7th or 8th place then maybe more time isn't a bad thing.

Smith is in better shape than mertz for sure.

In the end it will come down to results for smith.
It's EXPECTED that Portland contends for the WCC title every year.
Soccer is the marquee program there so anything less than a NCAa
Appearance is failure. If u hold smith to that standard he needs to be let go.

Oregon had some nice opportunities that they did not capitalize on even in the second half. The fist half they possessed. OBVIOUSLY their defense is having some severe issues. They have had two games in a row with OWN goals. Who does that?

We both think that Oregon will likely need to get a new coach. You are probably more qualified than me to judge soccer as I have only spectated and you may coach. Even so, I love soccer, watch many college games and those were my observations.

I don't know or care who Chris and Neil are. I care that two local girls are going to receive a fantastic education and continue to play the game they love. What I also care about is that you seem to feel the need to tear down that accomplishment. It's very weird and it reeks of deep jealousy.
