Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThis is all correct. What was the point of making this change to DA if the top teams at each club were playing premier now just play each other in DA?
OYSA Premier is now comprised of (1) a few of the clubs without DA programs (e.g., Bend and RVT) and (2) the second teams from the clubs that field DA teams.
So, the Portland teams play themselves in DA. ADF, RVT and Bend have an easier time in Premier than they used to because they are playing the second teams for Westside, Washington Timbers, and FCP. Once those clubs align with USDA, everything will go back to being mostly how it was.
It's little more than moving the pieces around the board.
1) Remote TA teams (Eugene, Bend, Rogue Valley)
2) DA "B" teams (Copa, Navy, WT FC Red2)
3) Mainly Latino teams (4H, IFC, Cuervos)
4) Two other local teams that mainly serve a specific community (Salmon Creek, Hillsboro)
5) ADF, which is kind of in a category all its own.
And the B teams are presently concentrated at the bottom of the standings.

I suspect that quite a few of the OYSA premier teams could beat Eastside's DA, and the teams at the top of the table might even be able to take down a few other DA teams. Crossfire and WashT's DAs are probably better than anyone in OYSA, and perhaps FC as well, but there is considerable overlap between the two leagues.

Ironically, it's probably the bottom half DA parents who want to preserve the system as is.

I must say that when my son's team played FC, i didn't see or hear any of that from the FC kid either. Nor did my son say anything negative about him either. Probably a Westside parent trying to start something.

Much like another poster said, my son really likes him and considers him a friend. He is a good kid. Not cocky and certainly doesn't talk trash. He just plays all out the entire game.

Here is the most recent list of the top goal scorers for USDA.
FCP & BSC each have five game results and Crossfire has 4, so with that being said the boys from Capital & Washington Timbers who each have five goals in three games are truly leading the pack (1.66 goals/game). Top three will fade a bit as their teams have bye weeks and the others play.
Some teams are very complete, notching several players with multiple goals. These are the teams that will prove to be difficult in stopping and will be at the top of the table by the end of the league.
Updated now that the Westside vs Eastside results have posted.
