The player in question is an 05, but rostered with the 04s. Which team he will play for this weekend, I have no idea. In general, the active roster for a match isn't known (by anyone but the coach) until game time.

No. The poster said that he heard a rumor that the 'bully forward' is playing with the U14 team this weekend. He played with them vs Crossfire, then looks like he played for the U13 team for the last two games.

If he switches back to the U14 team, that would mean rumor guy got it right. I know that they let the players know before each weekend about rosters. That hasn't been sent out yet, so rumor guy is either the coach, or is someone the coach would tell.

Now I'm definitely going to see where he plays on Saturday!

He only plays with the 2005's if they are worried about losing. They should be worried! He should play down.

Actually exactly the opposite. He only plays with the 05's if they have a chance to win. Much like against crossfire they don't have a chance even if he plays with the 05's this weekend. There is a reason he did not play 05 against crossfire- crossfire spanked them with him this summer so no point, it's better to give the weaker 04's another body

Why so surprised by the crow score? They have not beat a team yet that was in the top half of the top premier group last year including state cup pool play. I don't see them beating Bend or IFC either. They are all flash and very little substance just like last year. Now I will say this-come springtime who knows, others seem to defect from their current team and migrate to the crows and ifc teams each year along with a few questionably aged teens come State cup....

I've noticed that Cuervos get a lot of crap here for having big kids whose age you "questionable".
Why is it questionable? Is it based just solely on the size?
Would it be questionable if the team wasn't made up of Hispanic kids?

Cuervos 05 does not have a single questionable player (in terms of age). In fact, about 1/3 of the team is 06s

Other than the keeper, who is huge, none of the Cuervos kids (that I have seen) is larger, stronger, or faster than your typical 12-year-old athlete.

(And even though the goalie is large, I know plenty of 12-year-olds who are just as big. Most of 'em don't play soccer, however).

Last year, Cuervos was created from the ashes of ADF defectors who had previously been with LA Amistad/IFC and then left ADF after the Billups coach was tanked. The team played in the lowest level of OYSA and boat raced teams. They played in State Cup, and were exposed. In our game with them, 7 kids were ruled ineligible to play. Why? The roster was hand written, and there were a ton of different names listed and then scratched out. There were players without uniforms, others with mismatched unis, and finally players with taped #'s on their jersey's. There were a couple of really big kids with facial hair, but hey, maybe they were legitimately 11 or a young 12 with a hormone disorder.

Why would you think they are magically legit all of the sudden now as opposed to 4 months ago? "They" meaning ifc/amistad/adf/Etc have been notoriously guilty of trying to play older kids in state cup for reasons I don't understand??? Is it like a TA parent? Unfortunately for your son, it turned out they played for a team that lacked overall talent and got no results and ended up with egg on your/their face...

I'm starting to see what you mean, could it be that they are unorganized? When my son started playing ,3 years ago, our team was in a similar situation, we had players who had to wear numbers taped to the jersey because they forgot their shirt and they wore the ones coach had in case of an emergency, that doesn't mean we were trying to cheat. We also got the "that kid is too big,there is no way he is 11" funny thi g is that o my the loser teams complained, when the other team beat us ,our boys'size didn't matter.
I'm not trying to make excuses with the way Cuervos do things but I have to point out that just because a kid is big or might have facial hair at 11 or 12 that doesn't make him ineligible. You want to see a big 05, go see the U15 Sounders Academy play the U15 Portland Timbers Academy tomorrow, Sounders have an 05 player who starts and plays the whole game,they also have 3 04's,two of which are startes. I can assure you you can't tell who the 05 is, or the 04's ,and I'm sure none of them have a hormone disorder.
