This is the crux of the matter. I'm all for DA & GDA/ECNL and those opportunities but patches & leagues don't change much. Enjoy the soccer life however best you can.

WT did lose heavily to TA. Four of its starting front five from a year ago are now in the Billups Brigade (and the other starting forward from last year is at ADF).

And as far as OYSA being irrelevant--the local DAs are irrelevant compared to Seattle and NorCal. Which are irrelevant compared to SoCal.

Again, will be interesting to see how Oregon DA teams do the next couple weekends. DAs from Westside, FC, and CFC will be at Crossfire, and Westside and WashT's DAs will be at Surf. (Surf schedule says "Westside B05 Copa", but it's the DA team that was Copa last year, not the current OYSA team called Copa).

Not sure about local 05 da's being irrelevant compared to Seattle. Bsc, crossfire and Washington timbers teams played Eastside (Bellevue) GS surf (Seattle) this weekend at the Mecca that is harmony and all did very well.

Crossfire and wash timbers Beat, bsc not sure but they had a good team last year and have added some south side and fc Portland players to the mix. I wonder if fc pdx falls as far as westside has with the loss of players to timbers and apparently bsc.

That has to be embarrassing- a DA team losing in a subpar tourney. It will be a long weekend in Seattle for westside better warm up the excuses....

It's not embarrassing at all. Not in the least bit. First time playing as a new team. Yes, a much weaker team than last year's copa. WT dominated the game and fell short. No part of that is embarrassing.

Just curious - but from reading these posts, Westside Timbers 05 had an DA team in Beaverton Cup AND one in these DA friendlies at Harmony? Was one DA known to be stronger than the other?

For the 05's at Harmony it was BSC, Crossfire, Eastside FC and WashTimbers. Crossfire was the strongest of the local teams.

Not surprising. Their 04 team was the best DA team last year, and the 05's presumably have the same coach. I always thought the 05 Crossfire team was one of the best teams in the State state last year. They could and did, beat everybody. They were very inconsistent though. Either coaching or chemistry issues...or both. Maybe that will change this year?
