BTW-these are summer tournaments and regardless of team affiliation, players go on vacations, and teams also have guest players.
Entries into summer tournaments are a chance for teams to get their feet wet before league play. Especially for such a young age group, coaches get a chance to see how they will train and players are learning how to play together.

In no particular order...
* Cuervos. Looked very strong at Clash, although with a few TA players on the roster. If they actually can maintain a consistent team, could easily be one of the top teams.
* 4H. Another strong mostly-Latino club, this one focused in Willamette Valley. Could lose players to CFC's DA team, but if they resemble last year's State Cup team, will be very strong.
* LAFC/IFC. Did poorly at State Cup last year, but were a respectable Premier team.
* HSC GPS. HSC had a top-20 squad last year, and is now operating under the GPS label, for whatever that's worth.
* ETFC, RVT, BFCT: Probably didn't lose much to DA due to geography.
* Copa, Red2. The two DA second teams that so far haven't made appearances in summer tourney season without stinking up the joint. CFC might have a decent OYSA team too. ET's top non-DA squad is definitely not premier-level; haven't seen BSC's non-DA team, and FC's OYSA entries don't look good at all. Will Crossfire run an OYSA team, or will it be Crossfire DA and OYSA teams from LOSC, WUSC, etc.?
* ADF. Definitely down a level from last year's runner-up team, still dangerous.
* Corvallis, NEU, Aloha, SSC. Smaller clubs that have had some success in recent years.

The idea shouldn't be to only develop some Oregon boys more than others, it should be to better develop all Oregon boys.

a) markets self as a somewhat exclusive program
b) makes player mobility a bit harder, not easier--as there are limitations on player movement between DA and non-DA teams, even in the same club.
A good argument can be made that all youth soccer should run more on DA principles--or at least DA-style training should be made available to all skill levels, rather than just seven local clubs plus the TA. (And those kids who like playing five-games-in-three-days tournaments should have that option, too--some kids like to kick ass and take names, and don't care about training for the .001% chance they might become a pro one day).
It shouldn't be a mark of shame that Westside's 05 DAs lost to NBT--if anything, it shows the immense gulf between NorCal soccer and Oregon soccer (NBT is a middling club in NorCal--imagine the slaughter if De Anza Force or similar were to show up at Beaverton Cup). And yes, WT will have its work cut out for it this weekend up in Seattle and next down in San Diego.
Unfortunately for WT, they only got to face one local team in B-Cup--and they slaughtered them 14-0. (There were two "B" teams that went into the Gold bracket and got waxed all weekend long). The other teams WT faced were all from California, and they went 2-1 against that competition, including 1-1 against NBT. So in terms of "talent identification", it was a wasted opportunity. (That said--doesn't the DA already have a full roster?)

That's two problems, not one. That's a one game suspension for you for not being able to add.

It looked more like the samba team from this springs state cup. Stop trying to spin the result, oysa has been made irrelevant in our market by the da
And as far as OYSA being irrelevant--the local DAs are irrelevant compared to Seattle and NorCal. Which are irrelevant compared to SoCal.
Again, will be interesting to see how Oregon DA teams do the next couple weekends. DAs from Westside, FC, and CFC will be at Crossfire, and Westside and WashT's DAs will be at Surf. (Surf schedule says "Westside B05 Copa", but it's the DA team that was Copa last year, not the current OYSA team called Copa).
