These discussions are framed around what remains after the Timbers Dev. Academy cheery picks the best of the best players from our local clubs. Why touch on this, it�s truly a depressing and irrelevant subject matter.

What�s not discussed is why so few players are chosen to the Timbers DA from certain clubs, year after year.?

What side was the clear winner last year on the TA Lottery... But actually only two players are good and play meaningful minutes. One player is assumed and has always been assumed to be very good, but in actuality his attitude holds him back.

You mean Westside, not "what side." WT does have a strong presence at TA for 2005. Four from WT and one that WT developed, but went to FC for a short time before TA. All are very good players and deserve to be there. You are wrong, there are three (not two) starters all play integral roles of the team. One of those starters is known for having a bad attitude and has been on blast in this forum. He seems to be turning that around now under new leadership. The fourth is a substitute and his size is problematic for him.

Is this about the Crossfire 04s? The team that a few years ago, before the move to calendar year ages for players, won state cup and the parents thought they were the next big thing in Oregon? Then the cutoff for ages came and split the team and the ones that were stuck playing up in 03 all scattered and landed on B teams at the 03 age group. The remainder have stayed at Crossfire in the 04 age group and are trying to relive their glory?

I believe the poster was saying that while there may be 3 starters on TA, who came from Westside, that only 2 of them are any good. I agree with your assessment about the bad attitude kid, and the vertically challenged one. Not sure why you felt the need to mention a player that came from FC though? However, feel free to claim him, as he also has a bad attitude and creates a lot of scoring chances for the opposing team due to his arrogance. A trait I can vividly remember from his time in Red and White.

I was talking about the �04�s.

Little do you know that the reason those �two� balls over the top were successful was because Crossfire was prepped with shorter passes in Vantucky half of the field drawing Crossfire in creating space in behind. That�s much different then just simply smashing the ball forward.

Everyone�s gameplan use to be to press Vantucky because they build out. What they are finding out now is that if you press them that they will slice through you like butter with an occasional ball in behind that punishes the press.

Nobody cares about the 04's on here. Please move to that thread. Also, I have seen your 04 team...they are good. But, they are not all that.

Hahaha...cherry picked, huh? More like lemon picked. Or in the case with the 05's, took what they could get and then filled out the rest of the roster with private lesson kids, and Dragon's friends. Seriously, TA has about 4 kids from this age group that are non negotiable. The rest....all easily replaced.

I don't know why everyone is so down on "bad attitude kid". Never had a problem with him while he was on Copa. He did wear his heart on his sleeve and got booked a few times, but he was always an asset on the field when he was with Westside. And he always seemed a nice kid to me.
